Halloween night - Haddonfield, IL. A young boy butchers his older sister with a kitchen knife. 15 years later, he escapes from a mental institution only to return home and terrorize the town, including babysitter Laurie Strode. Now pursued by Dr. Loomis, the doctor who tried to treat him until he realized that “what was living behind that boy’s eyes was purely and simply… evil”. His name is Michael Myers. And so began one of the most iconic horror franchises in history – what producers Moustapha Akkad and Debra Hill, writer/director John Carpenter and stars Jamie Lee Curtis & Donald Pleasence started has spawned 10 feature films and lasted over 35 years. Now, for the first time ever, experience the terror of every Halloween film available together in 1 set! This limited edition deluxe set includes 15 discs jammed with content Halloween fans will love. Brand new, never before seen bonus features including new interviews with cast and crew, commentaries, behind the scenes documentaries, and so much more. Plus, the NEVER BEFORE RELEASED Producer’s Cut of Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers! The set also features both Blu-ray versions of Halloween as well as the Network TV versions of Halloween and Halloween 2. Here it is, the one that started it all – Halloween: The Complete Collection.
Apparently this is a joint-studio effort, with both Anchor Bay and Scream Factory involved. Hopefully we get the official press-release sooner than 5/19 now that Amazon let the cat out of the bag.
It could be that they listed it before Anchor Bay wanted them to. Apparently AB has a big announcement on Monday.
I have no use for the big collection myself. I already have every film on blu-ray including the most ideal foreign releases of H4, H5, H6, H:20, and Resurrection (as well as the theatrical editions of RZH1 and RZH2). They’d have to have superior versions of several releases for me to consider buying this, but this could be nice for those that can sell off their current disks and want less clutter. Hopefully the H6 p-cut will get a solo release, I’m not a fan of the cut, but I’m a completest and with it I can construct my ideal version of H6 (tv cut and theatrical cut combined).
This is a joint effort between Scream Factory and Anchor Bay. I heard about this a while ago when Don May was dealing with Echo Bridge. I know they (S F) paid out the A S S for the titles H6, H20 and H:R and it seems selling it thru a box set gets them some money back to be even but maybe then re-selling them on a single discs would be next if it’s my guess.
Christ, my phone lit up like a christmas tree this morning about this.
I know that someone may lose their job for the release announcement…Cliff at S F probably had a heart attack upon hearing what happened.
Hearing that SF are the ones who got the rights to 6-8 kills my enthusiasm for the set. Never been a fan of their company. I’ll likely just finish off my collection with the BD’s I’m currently missing. Always hated H20, so I can do without that one.
Very excited and disappointed about this. Excited because its going to be an awesome collection! Disappointed because I’m going to be flat broke when I order it. Lol.
Lost footage or not, I’m sold. Having the television cuts of Halloween and Halloween II, along with the producer’s cut of Halloween 6, which hardcore fans have so desperately wanted for so many years, is enough to sell me. Not to mention, tons of apparent new bonuses.
Hopefully Billy can get all the “unearthed” H1 goodies on this set, maybe the original H20 score as well in a unrelated addition. Regardless, this looks to be the ultimate for us fans.
