Here are POTENTIAL SPOILERS from around the web. Take it with a grain of salt:
This may sound like major bullshit but i kid you not, I have found out some juicy tidbits of Halloween Ends while on my rounds on the set of the new film. I’m not official or part of the Halloween Ends team.
Karen is dead.
Laurie is trying to live a normal life.
Allyson is going to mental health counselling.
Michael will be living in a cave. We won’t see it on screen, it’s alluded.
Most of the film will be slow and more calm throughout. More character growth.
Lindsay isn’t alone. She has a partner.
The Myers house is not abandoned. Someone is living in the home.
The major Radio Tower set piece was scrapped though The tower will have a small part in the film.
Michael doesn’t have a new mask. Slight alterations.
The Wallace house is coming back. Set is being built in Screen Gems.
Things have changed a lot since the last film. Haddonfield isolates every Halloween (I.e. Covid 19 inclusion.)
Laurie is the main focus but also isn’t. New characters take the reigns.
Since the internet is so skeptic nowadays, you don’t have to believe me. I am saying these rumours are worth thinking about. This is not speculation.
I don’t hate Laurie, but I hate what H’18 and HK have done with her. Her charactarization has been absolutely terrible. Just pure trash on every single level. Terribly written. Terribly acted. It’s awful and embarrassing. Because these movies have been such garbage I’m ready to move on from her too. Which is a shame because her characterization in H20 was fantastic. Why couldn’t we have gotten more of that?
“her characterization in H20 was fantastic. Why couldn’t we have gotten more of that?”
I don’t really know how to respond to someone who doesn’t see a major difference in the quality of these films. H20 is a joke, it’s a terrible film, takes place in CA, and Michael looks and acts completely off. It’s a cliche and superficial characterization, and really had nothing to say. Why would anyone want more of such a desecration of the franchise? Nostaligia is the only possible explanation. The new films are the best since the original, including Kills. I feel bad for anyone who won’t allow themselves past a few odd hangups that make them WANT to hate these new, fucking amazing Halloween films. Sad.
Sure, H20 wasn’t very good overall, but its strongest point was Laurie Strode. Her characterization was great. Well written and well acted. Literally the polar opposite of how she is in H’18 and HK. The writing is atrocious and the acting is terrible. It’s really a disgrace how bad it is. But hey, if that’s what you like, more power to you.
It seems to me if they are going to build the Wallace house in ENDS, it brings up an interesting question:
What about the Doyle house right accross the street?
I have to assume if parts of the film are going to take place in and around the Wallace house, they are most certainly going to have to film at least exteriors of the Doyle house.
But if the Doyle house is not being rebuilt, they are going to have to go travel all the way to Pasadena California where the house still sits unchanged for exterior shots.
Remember, the original Wallace house has been completely rebuilt, and it looks nothing like it used to be originally.
They should have just shot this trilogy in Pasadena to begin with. I can’t tell you how bad I hate that they went to the east coast to do it. They seemed to get everything else into place, but they couldn’t be bothered with the original locations. Gah!
Sad to say but for some reason I’m already bored with this trilogy and not too excited for Ends. I’m also secretly hoping it’ll surprise me in a good way.
What purpose would the Wallace house have in this film he isn’t going to return there it would have no attachment to him to revisit that street in the present day
RZ did it with no problem. I have no doubt they could have done it if they really wanted to. With all the hoopla over this being all connected to the original film and the “true sequel” to the original film and getting all the players back from the original film…and they couldn’t even be bothered to film in the original areas.
For me, it’s not about trying to make a realistic looking Illinois. I wanted these films to match up with the look and feel of the original film. Filming in the same areas would have made it feel like a natural organic and legitimate sequel. As is, NC and SC feel absolutely nothing like the Haddonfield from the first film. It feels counterfeit. Which ordinarily wouldn’t be a big deal, but because they made such a big deal about connecting this to H1…it does feel like a big deal. It fries me. I hate it.
Well for one, there’s already rumors that original locations are going to make a return. But the other thing is that they don’t have to film at the same exact houses. It’s the fact that they are in the same area/s (that look familiar and match up perfectly with what we saw in the original film) that matters. Like in RZH. The “present day” stuff wasn’t filmed at any of the H1 locations, but it looked super close to what we saw in H1 exactly because they filmed in the exact same town. That’s what I wanted for these new movies. It feels like a huge slap in the face that they cheaped out and went to the east coast.
It all seems a bit forced if they are going to bring back old houses just for the sake of it what’s the point it seems really pointless too spend the money to build a set of old houses from the first film I just think it’s fan service
If they are going to do fan service I’d like to see flashback to the original film when the mechanic was killed that’s The only death in the original film we didn’t see and it’s almost forgotten due to not being shown
