So what are you looking forward to the most with kills? For me, it has to be the score. Having Carpenter (and family) making the music again really set the mood for me in the last film. That, along with the new mask and the familiar faces, made it feel like I was seeing these characters for the first time since part 2.

Yes I’m also looking forward to the score. I went and saw John Carpenter in person and he did Halloween of course. I’ve collected all the vinyls and for me other than the film I’m curious where he takes the sound. Do you think for the flashbacks he will go back and do a h78 score or something new. It’s got to be hard to keep the sound fresh
I think it will be a few scenes and he’s just around as he is a name to use “the original Myers” I’d like him to do a few head tilts or something but him and James have very different face and body figures
I also thought something similar when thinking about the flashbacks. I think using the original music would be cool, but to match today’s technology, it might be better to re-record the same music so it won’t be so drastically different when the movie fast forwards to present day. At the very least, I would think that the original tracks would have to be remastered to beef up the quality some. Either way, I’m excited to see what he does. I also collect the vinyl, but only have parts 1, 2, 3 & 2018. I have part 4 on cd somewhere, but have yet to buy any of the others. When you said you have all the vinyl, did they make one for each film? I know there are CDs for each, and I’ve seen vinyl for most, but what about H20, HR, RZH & RZH2?
I have the vinyls for the first 5 and the box set they released to go with that the rest I have as CDs, I’d love a complete vinyl set of soundtracks.
I think they would have to re-record the 1978 scenes as like you say it just wouldn’t sound right and I’ve seen the original in movie theatres 3 times and the sound always gave it away as you can just pick up on older films and the mono/stereo soundtrack that has been remastered/remixed
I would be down with that. We’ve heard Carpenter’s new version of the original theme, and it would cool to hear new versions of Laurie’s Theme, Haunted House, The Shape Stalks, etc.

Yes this will be the first time so at least continuity will be kept and the shape won’t look different between films also the mask will be the same only in h78 and h81 did that happen

This is true, Tyler Mane would be the first to play Myers in back to back films. George Wilbur would be the only other one to play Myers more than once, just not consecutively.

Do you think they hired Armstrong because of his youth, or also because he is a similar size to Castle’s measurements circa 1978? Also, do you think he will be moving faster in the flashback scenes than JJC can?
I’m now wondering if Armstrong would be considered for any future reboots of the franchise if he pulls it off well
Well if you want to get technical, let’s not forget Cody Robinson who played the Shape for the fall down the stairs. It was short, and he only did the fall, but it was no shorter than when Nick appears in the mask so it sort of counts.
