Feel bad callin people out but im enjoying this thread and don’t want any spoilers at all…I know some stupid youtube channel posted a spoiler breakdown vid…So now it is out there and people may assume others have watched it…Once a trailer or more pics or info drops, there will be a lot to talk about like you said!
You shouldn’t, it’s all out of love! And that spoiler breakdown is horribly written and explained, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.
There is a couple of em’ haha i stayed away, I’m cool with seeing whatever the movie puts out just not inside knowledge haha
One of the things that really bothered me about the 2018 movie, was how useless and incompetent almost all the male characters were. Practically none of them were even given a fighting chance. Ray’s character in particular, really stood out to me. I mean he was Karen’s husband, Allison’s father and Lori son-in-law. If they were going to kill him, fine, but the way they disposed of him right before the final battle against Michael started, really bothered me. They should have at least had him stick around for a few minutes longer and had him do something to help fight before being killed off. The fact that they killed his character off literally right before the showdown happens, seemed awfully convenient for me. It’s almost as if they wanted to eliminate all the male family members so that only the Strode woman can fight against Michael. I really hope that the upcoming movie has more competent male characters who actually put up a fight.
Another thing that bothered me was that movie had a 17 person kill count. Only 4 of them were females while the remaining 13 were males! hopefully things will be much more gender balance in the upcoming movie.

Do you have this same complaint about the original? Because that film mostly features women in prominent roles besides Loomis. Bob’s a bumbling idiot in that film too.
There was a big thread on that aspect of the film half agreed the other half didn’t…I knew what we were in for when JLC said it was a ‘‘metoo’’ movie with girls taking over…It was a big time for women survival…It is the first Halloween where 3 female leads survive in the end…Is what it is
I don’t even think that’s anything new though personally. I think that’s JLC’s interpretation of the film, as the film was written way before the movement came about.
I also find it very interesting that H18 gets a lot of shit for it for some reason when the trope of the final girl has been a staple in the genre from the beginning. I mean, I don’t really see the problem when the central point of the film is a sub-supernatural man who is purely evil. Just my two cents. Regardless, i don’t see it being a discussion when it comes to Kills anyway. Great characters all around.

Something that confused me a little about H’18, for continuity reasons, was that Michael had almost 20 kills. I understand that he was probably impatient and ready to kill after being locked away… but in the first movie, he basically only killed the mechanic, Annie, Bob, and Linda. In H’18 he turns into this legit mass murderer that kills anyone on sight practically. Sure it can be explained that he was ready to rumble, but like… this sequel does slightly rewrite his M.O. of slow stalking before nabbing the kill (he does it a little bit, but not to the extent of H’78).
I don’t think it’s a re-write of anything more-so just the expectations of today’s horror that the team had to balance/meet.
A24 probably would have gone for a more '78 approach, but that’d be at the expense of box office and a horrid CinemaScore. I think they did they best they could updating him and bringing him into 2018 and on. Plus, I feel like we’d hear too many people complaining that it was just '78 all over again.

Must of been a pretty detailed spoiler review you saw…You keep teetering with Kills details…No offense but if I was a mod I would delete some of your comments LOL All love but some of us wanna be completely left in the dark until the time comes to find out a bit more of the movie, I’ve found out more from you then I have all year about this movie unfortunately…

I actually noticed Michael going back to 1978 form when he stalked Vicky. Remember when she was washing the knife? I saw him in the window. Reminded of Annie’s sequence in 1978 100%.

I get watching leaked footage but I dont think I could read it haha
Oh I know almost ALL of the spoilers for Kills I think. It’s very exciting still! I couldn’t resist, I’m obsessed with the franchise. Good on you keeping unspoiled, it’ll be a treat and a half at the theaters.
I think thats why I get so annoying about people leaking details, Because like you I am a huge huge fan and This is the first Halloween I havent spoiled for myself, I even clicked on the spoiler vid but then quickly backed down LOL…It’s so hard not spoiling it for myself…

There are genuine people out there that are trying to spoil this film for people and that is something that no one should ever condone. It really sucks. This is certainly not the forum or discussion to be doing that. There is a spoiler discussion that was started but we all agreed spoilers shouldn’t be stated in that discussion until later in the marketing cycle!
We’re all amply excited for this film, and it’s hard to stay completely unspoiled nowadays, and i don’t think anyone on this site is that kind of person that would purposefully spoil the fun for anyone, so it’s not a shot at anybody on here!
I know it is definitely inevitible, There are people who are banned that usually make burner accounts and come in and spoil the movies or troll hard, Surprised weve been spared so far
