Well let’s not forget this “wild arc” that these films are supposedly going to take. So it could be anything. When I hear “wild arc”, then something drastic is going to take place that throws a curve ball into the whole thing. Hard to say what it will be, but let’s just hope it’s done right and makes sense.
With a working title like “mob rules”, it could be that the whole town goes full lynch mob and it’s just chaos. Sort of H4-esque, only on a bigger scale. That could fit the “examination of violence in culture” theme.
Since it seems they’re bringing back so many original characters, it sounds plausible that they’ll explore how everyone has been affected by the events in ‘78 and ‘18. Them, Laurie, and her family are all different sides of the same dice in that respect.
My theory, and i might be wrong, this is why this period is so much fun for us fans cause we get to speculate on the upcoming films, but they might explore how trauma and violence can affect people differently. We saw the effect it had on laurie and his daughter and granddaughter even after all these years but now theyll explore tommy and lindsey. What i would like to see is tommy having an unhealthy obsession with myers, and not like the fanboy type like paul rudd in h6, i really mean in an unhealthy way like sartain.
I know a lot of fans didnt like sartain but after multiple viewings it has become one of my favourite parts from the film as i thought it was interesting and there was a subtext about our obsession with serial killers. Sartain i felt could be a parallel for the fans, how sartain was obsessed with michael and wanted to inhabit the shape and even wear his mask, is kinda like us. We want to dress up as michael and “become” the shape and obsess about the films and masks. The scene where he meets laurie is the perfect example, he is starstruck just like we would be if we met JLC aka “laurie”. So if tommy had an unhealthy obsession where it has consumed him, he probably wants to trap michael and not kill him but perhaps torture him and make him suffer just like the trauma michael inflicted upon him has scared him for life. This is all speculation of course but would be interesting, dont really want a scooby doo and the gang type stuff where they all band together like justice league to fight michael. That would be the obvious way to go imo and these films are supposed to be dark. Maybe tommy has a “michael” shrine and even has a clean, well preserved converted kirk mask on a shelf just like the one michael stole from the store decades ago. This might be a way for the shape to get a new mask if done right.
I believe Haddonfield is going to experience a mob like panic similar to the legendary myths of people’s reactions to the 1938 radio broadcast of Orson Welles War of The Worlds. An emergency broadcast alert is sent throughout the town on various devices like cell phones, radio, televisions, and emergency sirens demanding a “secure-in-place/lockdown” law.
At least it doesn’t look like he’s going to be too far damaged from the fire. Probably got out before it got too hot lol. I just want to see a clean mask again, I don’t want the last clean mask we see to be the Rob Zombie scene or Resurrection.
Although if we are getting flashbacks, which is a high probability considering the props they have requested, then maybe we at least get a clean mask in the flashbacks, which would give us a new clean mask in the lineup to collect!
I’m just lost as to what these flashbacks could be, maybe they show him stealing the mask and knife from the hardware store, just in a short scene where someone is talking about it or something, hard to say.
I don’t want to see CGI Loomis or Laurie, which is always something they might do of course. If they do, then it better look as real as possible.
