It can happen and I have seen it before but when it does people have to complain. Regardless if they sweep it under the rug, become a pain in their ass enough and in the end you could end up getting at least partial money back.
They caused damage and you paid for insurance for that very reason. Don’t just let it go. That is what they know you will do.
In the end it is up to you guys but it would be much better to see you guys stick it to them.
As i have already said, all i can do is mention it to my local PO about how the mask arrived i can’t point the finger at anyone directly as i have no proof who is responsible and as i said before in my initial post i can’t claim a refund nor a partial refund i would need a receipt as proof of purchase of the mask which i do not have and also i have to provide sufficient enough evidence that Royal Mail were responsible for the damage which i can’t do.The insurance cover is really only effective in this instance had the mask been lost in transit
I will see what I can do on my end. I will cotact the usps and the facility at which is sat for over 3 weeks. I am pretty sure it will not do any good but I will raise as much hell as I can. I’ll let you know if anything comes of it.
Anthony that is terrible! I agree with you 100% about these companies (or any business anymore it seems…) where there IS NO SERVICE you can trust! It is happening in anything anymore which is what I have noticed for quite sometime now.
No one claims any responsibility… it’s YOUR fault etc.
I picked up my Destroyer from over seas and it was a very shaky moment for me as well, both in transit time and just the complete uncertainty of where and how the item was-
and sure as heck when it arrived it was in a complete mangled box-
Which I instantly thought… oh man this is not going to be good! Thankfully it was though- so very thankfully.
As I utilize eBay from time to time, I will not ship overseas for that reason alone though. The absolute uncertainty that lies with the transit… too much is at stake for some of these items. The rarity of the piece… the cost etc. It’s almost too much to chance. Unless one was to ship in a safety lock box triple taped and such.
And heck even in the states I insure the lot out them JUST INCASE- even though the process of claim could very well take a year and a day forbid anything WOULD go wrong
Of course PayPal has buyer protection also which is of help… but still.
I’m sorry to hear this concerning both parties.
I would ask you, since you DID pay for special delivery… is there any fine print anywhere of liability or claim seeing that it did not arrive as per purchased service by you? Meaning do they allow any claim from your end IF the package does not arrive when stated? It’s not like a standard window of delivery… you PAID for special- so a month later is NOT special.
Anyway- I’m just jawing because I am channeling your frustration. I have been there and it is quite uncalled for.
Here you have all these great “shipping” companies with their commercials and services and worldwide delivery and security and then there are stories such as your own which seem to be MORE common to my ear shot then success.
well- Keep on brother*

All i done was inform my PO about a week ago where i posted the mask that it had been 3 weeks and still the item had not arrived at it’s specified destination and way overdue and told them i was not happy about the service but it had arrived in the US so it was out of my hands and the hands of Royal Mail they had done their job, they told me Royal Mail won’t declare an item as lost until 30 days after the guaranteed arrival date which wouldn’t have been declared until 16th october,i could then have claimed full compensation for the lost goods and they don’t require a receipt for the goods’ which is pretty dumb considering they do require a receipt if the goods are declared as damaged and also if they are held liable for the damage but how the hell would you be able to prove who damaged the goods ? you can’t it’s absolutley impossible since it is being shipped over seas and going through the hands of various persons including customs and various delivery drivers and depot workers,as i say this is a first for me and hope it’s a last i have never received a mask in that condition and i have bought almost everything i own from overseas and i do not want anyone else receiving a mask in that condition either and like i said before why it has taken a month to be delivered is beyond me.
I have opened a case with USPS for damaged good. It says someone sol l get back to me in 2-3 business days. I guess we will see what happens. I’m not very optimistic but ill sure complain like hell to anyone who will listen. LOL…
That’s exactly what you do. You become a big enough pain in their ass, you get results.
Most people let it go after one time. I learned from my Step-Mother that if you keep at it with anyone who is in the wrong, you get results. I have seen this woman get a new fridge after having a 5yr one go out and just at the time the warranty went out.
I’m not saying you will get anything back or even if you do, much at all. But at least you didnt let them get the best of you and treat you like shit.
Good luck and keep us up to date on what happens.
This Totally sucks,I wonder if it was the people down at the U.S customs that did this to your mask, when ever a box gets shipped into the united states, it gets held up in customs for that long. I remember when I got my H78 straight from Nick, it was held up in customs for a week or two, before it even reached the USPS, now I’m not totally defending USPS, cause I know a lot of times they suck, but when I got both my Creep and Psycho, both masks were fine, the Psycho box was a little dented but that was it. Justin lives out here in the U.S. And when I recently worked at the TOTS warehouse for 2 days straight, I got paid in masks, one of which was for my best friends son, and she lives in TX. So I’m willing to bet it was the people at U.S customs. The reason they hold any shipment that’s third party like this and not from a big company, the usually hold onto it for a while. Well even if it’s from a big company that’s not well established, they sit in customs for a while. Now I’m not 100% sure this is totally true, but I bet if you call the USPS that it was first delivered to and ask them how long it took them to receive it from customs, or how long it sat in customs, I’m sure they will tell you, how long it sat in customs…Dean
I haven’t had any problems with US Customs holding packages. I have shipped heaps of items to the US, from Australia, and I don’t think many have taken more than ten days to arrive. Some arrive in less than a week.
Mark
Yes,as i have already mentioned in my previous posts’ everything i have ever had delivered to the United States has arrived in no more than 8 days “MAX” and i have shipped many masks there over the years so it’s not really a Customs issue’,i am sure it was processed straight through and given immediate clearance in fact i am positive because it would say on the tracking info if it was being held by customs or a customs issue and it never, all it had as an update for 3 weeks upon arrival was (Origin Post is Preparing Shipment).
I know how this has been going from chatting with you and the whole thing sucks. What I want to know is why Royal Mail took your money to insure the package if they have no intention of paying what you insured it for. Why are they taking money, having you believe it is insured, when in reality, it’s only covered by them in this country… that is very misleading and plain robbery. Seems pointless insuring something doesn’t it.

YEP Si,it does when it comes down to the item being damaged’ as i say they would have only given me the full compo i insured it for if the mask had been lost in shipping, and it wasn’t it actually arrived well before the date they declare and write it off as lost goods, chances are had i not insured it at all that mask may not have turned up at all “SODS LAW” so i will still always ship with insurance for that reason.
I’d start with who placed the package on my doorstep.
People need to complain. The package was insured, correct?
Whoever delivered the package should be worried since the’re the first person that’s going to be blamed since it clearly states “insured”. You can start from there since there should be a record of who carried it.
And don’t be afraid of contacting customs. Why do I know this? In the past I’ve gone to the point that I’ve threatened customs that I was coming to their office to complain my ass off right after work and in the end I won

Yeah K,Justin is reporting it to USPS lets see what they have to say for themselves if he even gets a response
Anthony i am so sorry for this crap that happened! that REALLY REALLY SUCKS!!! people these days don’t give a shit when it isn’t theirs. There are too many selfish dick heads in this world! Even more upsetting this is the 23" prototype and this is how it looks after this! So upsetting
Yeah man,one word for em.TOSSERS.
That’s awful, I don’t blame you for being pi**ed, Anthony, I would be too. Justin, make sure you make their lives as hard as possible until you get some kind of compensation. The more they get away with this sh*t, the more they’ll do it.

This is why I always get insurance when sending expensive items, you just never know what will happen in the chain of possession.
I did get insurance if you read my posts
So sorry to hear this happened. I work for the post office and I can’t speak for all employees but most of us take great pride in doing our jobs correctly. What I can say is that in most cases the problem is understaffing. I’ve worked for the place for over 4 years and I’m still not a full fledge employee because they don’t know what the direction the company is heading in. It’s frustrating but I show up everyday and keep my fingers crossed. I know it’s not much consolation but what I can say is as a USPS employee I apologize for receiving that package in that condition. We can and will do better in the future!
