I mean if you do not like all of the movies, or if you cannot find something about them that you like then you’re not really a true Myers fan. You’re just a fan of the movies you like. That’s cool.

Huh?? Just because somebody doesn’t like every single Myers film means they are not a true Myers fan? Soooo forget about spending over 10,000.00 in masks since the start of collecting…Forget about getting tattoos with Myers on them, Forget about flying to a state you have never been to before just to go to a Myers convention thats all faking the funk in your eyes…In order to be a TRUE Myers fan you have to like all the movies?? uhhh ok ? I am a Burger King fan but i dont like every single item on the menu…I love Chevy’s but i don’t love every single Chevy ever made. Im not a fan of showing the thing thats too scare you the most to much & right around H4 they starting showing the mask a bit much & the scare effect went downhill not to mention the director of H5 giving & interview and saying “Well we have Micheal chasing the girls…We have the girls running from Michael…I think thats it”.

Yep…Great heartfelt plot from the H5 director, he just bleeeds Myers fan…offended…No…Amused, just a tad.

Im gonna have to disagree. I think being more critical of a series because of the standards its set makes you MORE of a fan. I think insulting a character by turning out a poor film just to make a quick buck is a disrespect to everything that was accomplished before it and liking that kind of goes against WHY you liked it in the first place.

A lot of good points in this thread, I enjoy all of the halloweens just H1-H2 are by far the best, IMO it doesnt feel like the real michael myers after H1 & H2, if they at least used the same guy/mask for H4,H5,H6 then I would have enjoyed them more, just my opinion

Aw clutch don’t be so offended. It’s okay if you hate the movies past H2. That’s your opinion. But how can one be a Myers fan if he does not like all of the Michael Myers characters? I found that each and every one of them had their own unique quality about them, and I was just happy to see he was still around.

I see a big difference in the words “don’t care for” and “hate”. Never once said I hated the other films. The feeling I get when I watch the sequels just don’t even come close to giving me the feeling I get when I watch the original film(s). It’s hard to describe… and quite frankly I shouldn’t have to in order to prove I’m a true fan.
There was never intended to be a sequel to Halloween 1978 when it was directed. Maybe that plays a part in my feelings toward the other films. I just don’t appreciate being called an “untrue fan” because of this, that’s all.

A lot of members here really hate RZ’s H2. I don’t see why. Of course it’s totally different compared to the original, but that makes it original in itself, just with the same killer. I mean, would you really take Romero, Nicholson and Ledger, and completely hate two of the Jokers because they weren’t the same as the first? I sure as hell wouldn’t. I embrace the different sides that they portray as one person. Romero was a prankster, Nicholson was a mobster, and Ledger was just insane. The original Halloween has a Michael that stalked, killed, and dissapeared. Rob’s Michael chases, bashes, and then hides. I think I may have completely went off track with what my original thinking train for this post was, but I don’t care. The point is, we should enjoy the new side of Michael Myers, not hate it. Shouldn’t be afraid of change…
