Interesting Halloween Facts II

That’s it!
Thanks Erik :drinkers:

JLC wasn’t John Carpenter’s 1st choice.
It was Anne Lockhart.
She didn’t want to play the part of an opressed virgin.
Instead she chose Battlestar Galactica…

Sheba baby!

:supz:

No sir you are incorrect. …

its a major misconception that the h1 hero was a converted kirk. . . in fact. . it was actually a Lightupmyers. . . look closely… in the closet scene, you can clearly see the strobe lights and the orangutan hair.

KAIZU!!! I HAVE BEEN HUNTING FOR THE COUPE DEVILLES ALBUM FOR AGES!!!

The voice of the woman on the PA system in HALLOWEEN III announcing the curfew (that apparently the liquor store and Chalis defied) was Jamie Lee Curtis

:open_mouth: :open_mouth:
I didn’ know that!!

yup! Lightup myers all the way. .

It is said that John Carpenter wore the mask for at least one scene in the first Halloween. .

Dick Warlock offered his services to return along with the H1/H2 hero for H20. . . but some how we ended up with Chris Durand. . (which did a good job and I do like the KNB and Winston masks)

original casting of Halloween 7 involved Charles S Dutton cast as a bounty hunter. . to follow up Halloween 6. . .

god id love to read the original draft of Halloween 7. . .

A

Laurie Strode is actually the name of John Carpenters real life first girlfriend.

This was probably mentioned already…But, Lyndas house was also “MaMa’s Family” house.

I didn’t know that either, good one Alexander! :drinkers:

I believe I saw on the “pop up facts” included on the Blu Ray of Halloween that Laurie Strode appeared in an episode of Charie’s Angels as well.

Jamie Lee Curtis first public debute was on LOVE BOAT. . . where a pig tailed Jamie wore a one piece suit. .

I saw this once when Jamie was on Jay leno and mister Leno wanted to tease her about her first appearance. . . i particularly remembered this one when Leno announced a clip from JLC first tv/movie appearance and I was expecting a clip from Halloween

Thanks guys…this is the fun stuff that we’re all looking for. This was awesome!!!

Cool man I didn’t know this!

In the first scream film, I’ve always noticed that play halloween in the background during the party and in return, scream 2 plays in the background of the girl’s dorm in h20.

I also noticed that in the original halloween, laurie tells tommy and lindsey to go down the street to the mackenzies to get help. then, in the opening sequence of scream after the parents come home and see that the house is destroyed, casey’s father tells the mother to go down the street to the mackenzies for help, as well.

I also think I read somewhere that the boyfriend/killer in scream was named after dr. loomis. (billy loomis) and that the acoustic cover of “dont fear the reaper” in the film was a homage to the original halloween.

  • Judith Myers was played by June playmate of the month 1974, Sandy Johnson!

Wow! I didn’t know that, and I have that issue.

Katee Sackoff, Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica, is one of the kids in Halloween: Resurrection.
I only mention that because I think she is HAWT!!

Scream is full of homages to Halloween and other horror movies. Billy’s character was supposed to look like a young Jonny Depp from NOES.

I know Ron, I already posted that info on page2 lol

The thorn symbol was supposed to be from a punk kid that found Myers instead of the blind guy in Halloween 5. They changed the scene so it whent unexplained. :drinkers:

In the original halloween during the the hedge scene. when laurie and annie are walking away look at the top of the bush. you can see a guy stand up on the porch behind it. he lived there and was watching it be made…

Also the house used for the exterior of Nancy’s home on ELM Street. located at 1428 North Genesee Avenuein Hollywood was also used as the interier of Lauri Strode’s house in Halloween. these scenes were shot during Hallowwen 2 for the filler for Halloween tv version. With all the cuts to the movie it wasn’t long enough by 10 mins. as John says he uesed Carpenter footage to fill the time. The original family living there forever moved out and the house was completely remodeled. also in the tv version the bed room scene were Nancy Loomis- Annie is calling Laurie from. to borrow a outfit this scene was shot upstairs in what three years later would end up being Nancy’s- Heather Langenkamp’s same bed room from A NightMare On Elm Street. i don’t know if anyone else knew that but i figured i share it with you guys. as ive never heard anyone talking about it in the fun facts for Halloween…

Great thread guys! I had a lot of fun reading this! This actually helped my through my Wednesday morning  .

I am a huge Halloween and Elm street fan and I didn’t know that! I love it!

Very interesting. I don’t think it was a huge mistake in his career though… the man is very well established and has tons of memorable roles. Loomis would have just been some icing on top of it all.
