Is anybody NOT going to be Michael this year?

This year I am not going to be Michael for the second year in a row. I am a promoter/ DJ here in Houston as well so doing Myers ever year is something everyone would expect:) So last year was “Clockwork Orange” and this year is Harry Warden from My Bloody Valentine! I have every piece except the pick axe head but it is already in the mail and on its way to me now.

I am so stoked this year about my costume, is anyone else NOT doing Myers this year? If so what are you doing instead? If you ARE doing Myers, which sequel?

I never do Myers, simply because there’s not enough shock value. I can’t really jump out or make noise in a Myers costume because it takes away from the character. Unless you’re actually afraid of Myers, which most people aren’t anymore, it’s not scary. If you wear a costume that you can add your own character to, then you can use that to scare the little kiddies.

This is my costume this year.

Once again, my hopes of actually donning a hockey mask will be dashed. Last year it was because I didn’t get my CFX mask in time. This year is kind of my own doing. I wanted to wear my newer Roy hock, but I never sent it out to get strapped. So, I’m pretty much doing the same as I did last year and wearing the ol’ RZ costume. Except this year I’ll be wearing the new, clean Artifact. I’m fine with this, though, because I enjoy doing the RZ Myers, as there’s a little more freedom of movement there.

Well I updated this costume a little bit with a black tactical belt and a black pouch for the battery pack and it works very well!, the pouch was just the right size and since I had a hard time finding a good belt this was just what I needed. Sooooo excited about my costume! Foam pick axe will be in soon.

That’s a great costume man. To answer your question, I try to change it up each year ( Myers last year ) because I live in a very small town and Im the Biggest Halloween fan in it  AND EVERYONE COMES BY MY HOUSE :smiling_imp: …But I figured out how to be Michael without being Michael :open_mouth: …I just finished my costume today  I will try to get some shots tomorrow and tell you all about it

That’s sick as hell, little dude!

DEMENTED clowns scare the stuff out of me, but I would have to respectfully disagree with you as far as the scare value in a Myers costume. While my girlfriend hands out the candy, I will stand there motionless in my Myers outfit. People will start to walk up towards the house, and when they see me standing there, they will literally turn around and walk away. Most the time I will have to turn and walk away so that kids and adults alike can come up to get their candy. I love your costume though

I have to agree with uhall here. Although it’s true that a lot of people are so desensitized by the white mask that they no longer are afraid of Michael, there are just as many out there that are still terrified of our beloved boogeyman.

Interesting thread… I’ll be passing on Myers too. I’ve been in walking dead zombie scene for a couple of years. I’ve managed to put together a very realistic zombie costume that get jaw dropping results from people that see it. Don’t get me wrong , I think Michael Myers is the awesome psyhco ever created and I absolutely love the mask and the costume. But I have other costumes that get a lot more attention. I also have a very scary Kort Barlow vampire costume that is very scary, so scary in fact… My kids can’t stand to look at it.

Going to try to be The Creeper this year since I didn’t get to do anything last year.
All I need is the hat, shirt, and jacket. Was thinking about doing a scarecrow style think where I’ll put some old boards together and display myself life a scarecrow scaring folks as they walk by. Might be able to pull it off.

At my wifes work Halloween party I’ll be Captain Quint from Jaws this year and my wife is wearing a shark that comes half way up to look like she’s being eatin. I’ll sing “Farewell and Adu to my fair spanish lady.” alot and I’ll keep yelling out, “Here’s to swimming with bow-legged woman!” then I’ll tell her boss he has city hands because he’s been countin’ money all his life.

I have to disagree about the statements that Myers is not really scary to people anymore. I’ve went as Michael 6 out of the last 10 years, each time donning a different mask from a different sequel. While adults aren’t so frightened by it, kids are terrified of it. I bring my JC Lamson with, bloody the blade up a bit not with runny blood, but with chunky coagulated-smeary looking blood, and then every little kiddie that walks by gets the slow head turn and I simply follow them with my head, saying nothing. I will follow them up to someone’s door, do the head tilt, and I swear every time the kids cling to their mother’s lol! Then my kids (who are trick-or-treating just behind me) will come up to the door, get their candy, and as they walk away I turn and follow them. Just as I reach the street I give one more glance back to the kid(s) I was “stalking” and they always have huge eyes and instantly grab at their mom’s leg again. The mom’s are always like “ooh, he’s scary, isn’t he?”, totally adding to their kids’ fright. I think the moms get more of a kick out of it than I do… :open_mouth:

Man I love Halloween :axe: :smiling_imp:

As for this year, I haven’t decided yet. It’s down to Myers (of course), Ledger’s Joker (I have a custom suit, purple wool jacket etc. so it’s completely awesome and authentic), or a zombie if my nephew comes along. We shot a short film called “Children of the Flesh” for our Halloween fan film and he got to be a zombie in it. Ever since then he has been begging me to let him come down and go out with us, zombie style lol.

This will be the 3rd year I will not be Michael. Most of the kids and sadly adults have no clue who I’m dressed up as. I got tired of being called Jason and even Freddy. I even did RZ Myers the last 2 years and same results. I got into Death Studios masks and have been a Zombie since I gave up being Michael.

Im Going To Be Myers Yet Again  I Can Understand What You Mean When You Say That You Cant Jump Out And Make A Noise Because It Takes Out The Character. But Even If You Done That, It Wouldn’t Be Myers Anyway. When Im Michael Myers, I Try To Be Exactly Like Him By Standing Around Behind Bushes, Banging Something, Staring At Someone From Outside Their Window And Then Suddenly Dissapear And Move On. Thats How Michael Is, He Always Plays In The Shadow. You Dont Need To Jump Out On Anyone. Just Creep Around, Stare At Someone Through Their Window And When They Quickly Go To Show Their Mum Or Boyfriend/Girlfriend Or Friend. Quickly Hide Behind A Tree Or Walk Away. Thats Why Im Always Gonna Be Myers.

This Year, Im Going To Be Michael Myers From HalloweeN II 1981 Simply Because I Just Received My TOTS Halloween II Mask  ~~MichaelMyersFan1oo1

I will be wearing my H1 JTK for the outdoor screening of Halloween my town is hosting, and I will stalk around my work on Halloween morning with it, but for the actual festivities I will be wearing this:

YES!!! SO AWESOME!! :open_mouth:
