Patrick Lussier has officially signed the dotted line to direct HALLOWEEN 3D.
I hate that they are doing another one, it makes me more sick that it’s in 3D…it might be in good taste…I just don’t want to see knifes flying at the screen.
But hey, the greatest part about it…ROB ISN’T DIRECTING…WOOOOO
I really wish it would end, or at least go on an extended hiatus. The last two really left a sour taste in my mouth. Actually, the last 3…
This ain’t going to be good. Does anyone remember the last good 3-D movie???
That being said, check this out from Siskel and Ebert in '83, the year of the 3-D stink-fest:
why does everyone hate rob zombie so much … if he would of made these movies with out using the halloween and michael myers name everyone would of loved them they are great movies i dont understand why people think about old movies done by other people when there are reviewing a new movie (i love remakes) … i wish rob was doing the 3rd film i think hes a great director his visions are amazing and im not a rob zombie fan i never listened to his music or anything like that i only know him from his film making
And Todd Farmer is writing… this could be promising…
I think certain rules need to be applied.
No “Who gives a f**k about them” characters as in Halloween: Resurrection.
Story should return to the basics of what made Halloween scary. People we care about in familiar scenarios, i.e houses that could be ours with Michael stalking and wat ching from a distance with slow suspenseful build ups before he strikes… classic “Haunted House” stuff.
Babysitters!! Whatever happened to the babysitters?.. I mean the original script was titled the Babysitter killer… we are all familiar with this situation… all of us have been babysat or been babysitters at some stage… these people need to feel like they could be us!!
Use the familiar musical themes but don’t over-use them.
3D element needs to be secondary to the story so that the story isn’t built to suit the 3D gimmick but the 3D is only there to enhance the experience.
Keep Michael Scary… Don’t care what anyone says… Rob Zombie and Tyler Mane made Michael scary again… he was brutal and violent when he finally struck yet he could be silent and predatory when it was required. Therefore Tyler needs to return. Best Michael since Carpenters Nick Castle.
He need’s to become scary again in the way of being the shape, not some violent, tall man. I mean him being the shape as in stealthy and hidden. Something Tyler Mane never was.
For me this is interesting news, I’m just extremely glad that Zombie isn’t going to be directing it! I think Patrick Lussier might be the right guy to get the next movie back on track. I think he did a good job on My Bloody Valentine 3D, no it wasn’t the greatest movie ever made but I had a good time watching it in the theater and the whole 3D stuff wasn’t overdone.
The title Halloween 3d doesn’t have to be a play on words to make it 3D and the third fil in the new series. If the title is Halloween: 3D then it could be the third film in this series or just a Halloween in 3D.
I really don’t care who is directing this. The last 2…just terrible. I’ve got a great feeling this one will be as well, plus it’s in 3-D. I guess that will make up for how bad this is going to be. For example, Final Destination 3D. You know that was bad, and you didn’t even have to see it. I’m just psyched for Toy Story 1 & 2 back to back in 3D. That’s worth going to
It might be good, I guess we’ll need to wait and see.
In both RZ’s Halloween films, he showed more of Michael Myers, (who looked just like any random guy) straight in your face killing people. Instead of showing us The Shape / The Boogeyman.
The Shape / The Boogeyman is different, he stalks, he wacthes, he waits, he hides in the shadows, behind bushes, at the side of houses, takes his time, and then he kills… we dont really see him, which makes him more scarier.
I really hope they bring back The Shape / The Boogeyman.
I really loved Robs vision of “Halloween” and his very original take on it for “Halloween II”. I’m not sure however if “Halloween” 3D should follow this Universe for the very reason that it may be very difficult for another director to emulate it.
