Ken Hertlein/Dick Warlock Signature Mask Thread

Awesome thread bro didn’t realise you scored a KH  Btw your copy looks sick Frankie any more pics? And i also love how creepy the #18 is

Neat thread!
I envy those who have been lucky enough to see/own a KH/DW. Hopefully, some day, I will have the opportunity to own one. Thanks for taking the time to do all this research and make a thread of it, Frankie!

Thanks, guys! I’m glad that you are enjoying the thread. My hope is that it will continue to be updated as new information becomes available, copies change hands, etc. Ken’s accomplishment deserves this type of recognition.

I had accidentally listed copy number 17 as number 19. I corrected the error, provided the name of the original owner, and added a picture of the mask as it appeared in original condition!

Wow Frankie… what an awesome contribution! This was a great idea, and I can surely appreciate all the effort you put into this thread! It should be the official KH/DW go to thread for years to come! Very informative, and very interesting… now if only I had one of my KHs back!

Congrats on the score of a lifetime, man! :drinkers:

My old #5 that Benny (Michaelantern) has now. I was on cloud 9!

I’m glad that you dig the thread concept, James!

DUDE! What was it like meeting Warlock with your Hertlein?! Did he make any comments that stood out to you with regard to your former #5 or the KH/DW in general? Must have been an epic experience. :open_mouth:

I added your photo to the initial post! :sunglasses:

Certainly was a learning experience. Fantastic read thanks for sharing!

Nice thread.
However the price I paid to Dick Warlock for my mask was $350.00.

Thanks, Denny! I have edited the initial post with that information!

Additionally, while doing some KH/DW photo analysis, I ran across a few items that led me to believe that Darren’s #12 had been repainted… TWICE! Darren kindly confirmed this theory earlier this morning.

The first repaint was pretty cool and done to the likeness of the H4 novel photo. Most will recognize THIS mask as being on the cover of the Myers.net KH/DW photo gallery!

Unfortunately, the mask in the above condition was painted with acrylic paint which, to my understanding, cracked/failed and was sold stripped of its paint:

After which KennyD who, despite not being well known as a Myers mask artist, gave the mask a beautiful restoration paint scheme to look like it would have its its glory days, fresh out of Ken’s shop in 2002!

I also added a “notes” section to each mask slot in the event that there are any noteworthy tid bits of information to add!

Awesome thread DeathClutch. Amazing to see all of these in one place and not have to search around for them. Great job brother! :drinkers:

Damn, what a shame that repaint was. Shoulda used some liquid latex in the mix.

Thanks, bro! I’m happy that the thread has been helpful.

Unfortunate in and of itself, maybe, but it led to the mask looking pristine today. Everything for a reason, as the saying goes. :sunglasses:

Heck yeah, man! It’s a killer, now.

Thanks to Hugo (“Macleod”) for his video submissions and for prompting me to create a VIDEO section for each mask! The thread becomes that much more “complete” with each contribution! :drinkers:

No problem buddy! :sunglasses:

**_I posted these before but since this thread is now THE go to KH thread (great job Frankie!), I thought I may as well add them here too.

This was back in October 2013 when Dick and Cat were visiting at my home. For fun Dick threw on my KHDW for a couple of quick shots.

Benny, those shots are BEYOND epic! Added a couple to the initial post. Please keep us updated regarding any relevant correspondence with Mr. Warlock.

Thanks again, everyone!

I would like to personally thank you my friend for doing all this research on all these incredible pieces. I realize how much work it can be to compile all this info and then put it into a thread & all for the love of this mask and our hobby which we hold so dear.

When i sent my #22 to Nick and Jimmy i requested that Jimmy take some quality pics of my baby and he did just that. From which came my favorite pic of my KH. As a matter of fact, it is my most favorite pic of any and all of my masks. It captures everything i love about the piece and more and i just wanted to share it. Thank you Jimmy for this Awesome pic brother.
