"Ken Hertlein Ultimate" thread

http://www.michael-myers.net/ken-hertlein-release-mask/

Ken Hertlein, who is responsible for some of the most sought after, accurate and popular masks in the entire hobby, is releasing a new run of masks:

To those who might be interested:

With regular requests from collectors through my website, I’ve been commissioned to create a new ground-up sculpt/mask run.
Not being completely satisfied with the two previous editions, this run will be my ultimate attempt at accuracy, and my absolute last work recreating The Shape character.

I’m taking a leave from most of my Makeup Effects work to devote to this project, and to have the time needed. But as before, it won’t be a large run.
The masks will be available on a pre-order, first come first served basis. This is exactly the same way as the last run commissioned by A. Santagato was done, and it worked out great.

While it will take time to create these masks, and patience will be required on the collectors end, I will point out that there has never been a single incident of a person not receiving the mask they ordered in the past. So I’ll ask for trust in that reputation.
Those interested can write to: > KH2017project@gmail.com > for pricing, and paypal ordering info.

I would also like to thank Derek at Michael-Myers.net for helping to make this possible.

Thank you for your time and interest,

Ken Hertlein

Note: Sizing will be in the arena of the KH/DW.

This will come with open arms in the hobby, as Ken Hertlein masks have always been a huge hit with collectors.

Michael-Myers.net is not affiliated with the sale of this mask, so please contact Ken Hertlein directly with any questions or inquiries.

Holy sh!t that’s some exiting news!!

[delete]

I’m not particularly into the Myers scene, anymore, but I cannot deny that this news excites me. After owning and selling the KH “trio”, I must say that my collection has a void in it.

I agree with Jo about the preorder price.

Interesting! Hopefully it is affordable.

Very awesome news!

Now this is exciting!

Already contacted him.

This is just the kind of news the hobby needed! STOKED!

I’m done. Email sent. Can’t wait. Somebody the best news in a long time on the forum

Email sent.

He only made like 5 of the Special limited edition for 1200 right? I just sold about 2 grand of transformers toys so I got money burning a hole in my pocket haha

Awesome news

Cannot wait!

30 will be made, $1300.00 is the price, and you have to pay in full, in order to reserve a spot.

A controversial opinion, I’m sure, but to pay a price like that in full, before the project has even started, is to me, a bit ludicrous, especially given the SLE debacle.

I’m not making any innuendos of Ken’s character (in a sense, maybe I am, to an extent), but given the lengthy time this project is expected to take, the amount you have to put down, PayPal’s refund timeframe, and the manner in which Ken handled the KH/SLE project, getting in on this is certainly a gamble.

:open_mouth: Super excited about this!

That knocks me out. My high end days are done lol! Spent too much money already and still haven’t found exactly what I see on film. But I am excited to see this finished and congrats in advance to those who are able to get in on this! It’ll be top notch, no doubt!

In Kens words:
For those who have asked this will be an H2 style, just like the previous ones.

I’m going to follow the model that was used with the previous releases that worked out so well. It will be a “first come, first serve” commission, which means purchase price upfront. So, with that in mind, I’m planning on doing the same edition size of 30 masks. That is a manageable amount to work with.

The last run went for $1,200, this will only go for $100 more, bringing the total to $1,300. There will be more work put into this final iteration that ever before, including preservation efforts to make the masks more resistant to wear and deterioration.“”

Sounds really awesome an im super excited like alot of you guys but as for $1300 ehh that kinda hurts! I was really hoping before i got the response from Ken that it would be like $500 a pop!! “To save or not too save…is the question”

I was very excited until reading this post. This definitely has me apprehensive now.

$1300 for a latex mask is what’s ludicrous…just sayin’. I could easily think of many things to spend that kind of money on. Rubber…? No.

That’s $39,000 in his pocket without showing any sculpt pics or anything?

Sure, I’ll take two of them!
