For me, it depends on the “display.”

Is it just a stand to hold up a mask? Or some kind of image/poster? - To that, I prefer to see nothing behind the eyes at all. Just blackness. I just think it looks cooler.

Or are we talking the full-on life-size deal? Or at least a bust? “Costumes?” To that, I’d say I prefer to see the eyes. The eyes should be kinda hard to see though, through the eyeholes. In the original Halloween, I don’t think they specifically “blacked” out the eyeholes ever. Perhaps they played a lot with lighting against the mask, but because of that, I do prefer to see the eyes on these kinds of pieces. They should be well “hidden”, however.

Love this shot. The eyes add a demented animalistic look in contrast to the emotionless blankness of the mask.

Agreed! 100%! Growing up, I often encountered mean stray dogs that would suddenly appear and scare me; reminds me of that!
