The fb page ruined original purpose of mm.net as far as being a place for discerning indy myers mask collectors. It’s now mostly a waste land of morons, hypocrites and socialist millennials who ignore reality

You probably look how ridiculous as you sound, in that little ramble you had going on there. Full of hate. Get out and enjoy life, instead of sitting behind a keyboard all day, spewing your ignorant hatred.
Yikes.

Meltdown.
Anyways, the reason why the FB group is unmanageable is due to a lack of a vetting system like the forum had, a nice big virtual firewall. They probably don’t require a post limit to sell things either, that actually helped quite a bit on here, in its glory days it was the place to be for anything Myers. Social media has hurt it quite a bit due to its ease of access.
What in the blue hell are you babbling about? Ignorant hatred? I am seriously confused. You seem like you need some major mental help Boss. Clearly you’ve been triggered somehow and have gone into some kind of fit of rage.
I dont have a facebook account because Im not that interesting, that and my wife thinks Im cheating on her or something if Im on there lol Which is absolutely ridiculous. I was on there yeeeaars ago though, I cant really remember what the mm.net page was like. I definitely like this site alot more. Im more of an Instagram guy, though that can be just like facebook with all the “look at me, my body, places Ive been, how popular I am” etc…Instagram is just easier to use and phone friendly cause Im never on an actual computer when I visit sites. Always on my phone. And this site runs great on my phone and easy to use. I hope this site never goes anywhere and if someone else does buy this site, I hope the guy/gal is just as cool as Derek is on keeping it going because I do like coming on here daily and seeing everyones awesome masks and everything else this site has to offer.
I enjoy this site very much. The fb page I usually skim quickly through. But here, I actually hang around. It’s a great site and I’d hate to see it go down. I’ve obtained a tone of knowledge here.
I hope it stays the way it is and I hopw that the ones who are trolling, stay away.
Its been many years since I left, and last looked at the FB M-M.net page. Everything about it rubbed me the wrong way. I much prefer the close knit family vibe you get in the Forum than on the FB page.
MM.Net facebook page is like wild wild west. Totally out of control. lots of fights , arguments etc… I go on it from time to time, but I much prefer the site.
I’ve been a member of this forum since 2003 and the old crowd is still around which is awesome. Some have come and go unfortunately though. Facebook has members like K who remind me of the origin days of indy mask making which is awesome. There are cool photos posted there, but as Facebook is so easy to use there are tons of people asking repetitive questions or complaining about masks. It definitely gets frustrating and some people list masks for ridiculous prices but I have blocked the people who cause issues. Overall though, nothing will ever beat this website for me. Early Gallery days are some of my fondest memories of this entire hobby
It’s actually stronger than ever. More traffic and activity than ever. Forums have less activity due to social media, but as others have pointed out, the hobby veterans hang out here and I personally like the separation honestly. I double downed on that last year when I made the forum private and not able to be browsed by guests. It’s like a club here and I like it.
Just to clarify here, the reason I am considering selling is because I just don’t have the kind of time to invest anymore. It needs more care and attention, and deserves that. I am currently speaking with two serious members who are veterans of the hobby. If I don’t get an acceptable offer I will pull the ad and continue the course as I have for 19 years. I still love the hobby, there are just a lot of moving parts that need tending to, and I’m only one person.
Haha, I’m always logged in so I never even noticed!
Completely understand where you’re coming from, man. My best friend ran the largest Jurassic Park fan forum on the web between 2005 and 2016. He closed it down due to simply needing a mental reprieve from running it. He considered selling the site, but the place was his baby and trust issues he developed in life led him not to want to pass it on to anybody else. He and I ended up reintroducing the main page, which was a literal encyclopedia, but ditched the forum entirely. I think it’s perfectly natural to want to move on, especially when you’re the one doing a lot of the leg work as my friend had been. You do a fantastic job with this place, and I hope that whoever takes over is equally as awesome as you have been for all these years.
