I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit and i decided to throw it out there,since I have a pretty strong opinion on it.Let me just say right up front that I see a lot of diverse collections here on this site and I love them all.I can appreciate the Freddy guys,the Leatherface guys,the old-school Don Post guys and every combination in between.
Now,take this thread as an idea that popped up in my head after reading some guys takes on the “White Mask” and not an excuse to bicker with each other,or to jump on me with both feet
I have read a lot about guys thoughts on collecting only Myers masks and that they feel it is boring or whatever.Now,I do have a pretty diverse collection and I really only showcase the Myers stuff here.I have a few cool 12" and 18" figures like Marv from Sin City,Leonidas from 300, and V from Vendetta.I also had tons of Star Wars stuff that I sold off little by little to fund masks.All I have left is a few Force FX lightsabers.That is just a handful of things worth mention.
Now,although I respect EVERYONE’S opinion here,I feel that collecting as many Myers masks as you can is also intriguing.I have a pretty wide array of Myers masks.Everyone’s stuff looks different.You can get a really original piece from Tommy,that is unmistakably his trademark look.You can get an amazing original piece from Bob at MMFX that has a trademark look that you just know is his work right away.Take that and mix it in with Justin’s take,Nik’s stuff and all of the other original talented finishing guys here,especially JC and you have endless possibilities.Every Myers mask I own has a certain look about it that I love.Some are basic,some are really dirty,eye cuts are different,you name it.Now,add in the Rob Zombie masks,which are totally different than anything from the original series,some Kirks and you can have yourself a pretty diverse collection
Now,collecting one character makes total sense to me,although I dabble in other slashers(Got a sweet piece coming from Tommy )I just feel exceptionally passionate about the Michael Myers character and all others pale in comparison.To me,there has never been a horror icon that comes close to the vibe that Myers had…the Boogeyman
Ok… well here’s my theory & i mean no disrespect in saying this but it seems like you’re trying to rationalize you obsession. Are you trying to sugar coat an underlying problem?
Hey man if you enjoy collecting 100’s of white masks & your wife is cool w/ it & your finances are stable don’t worry about what anybody else on this board thinks…it’s your life.
i dont find just collecting myers boring.i love looking at myers mask and he will always be my favorate . i do however love the old classics and thats what most of my collection is. but i dont see anything wrong with collecting one thing.my brother collects just boba fett stuff.hell at one point i had over 60 white masks.almost caused a divorce. tommy
YEA I AGREE, I LOVE MY MYERS MASKS, I WOULD BE HAPPY TO JUST KEEP COLLECTING DIFFERENT ONES, I WOULD GET SOME JASON BUT MYERS HAS ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE
First off,I am not rationilizing an obsession.Sure there is an obsessive side to all collecting.Why else would anyone collect “stuff”.Secondly,I do not care what anyone here thinks of my take on collecting.To each his own.This is merely my rebuttal to what people had to say in a previous thread,on a larger scale.It is a “topic” and that is what this board is about…topics.How fitting that the first reply would be of negative tone,after stating I’d like that crap left out.Thanks for trying to play shrink
In conclusion,the last time I checked,about 1/3 of my masks were “white masks”.We are talking about collecting one character.
Great topic!! I personally wouldn’t have a lot of Myers masks but I can totally see why someone else would. It’s fun to see all the differences(little or big) in every mask makers creation.
That’s all I’m saying.If you have 150 masks and they are all stark white,no weathering and identical…even extremely similar…that is a tad strange…O.K.,very strange However,I don’t see what’s wrong with collecting only Myers.How about people that are Elvis freaks,or Dead-Heads,or Phish fans?Does that make them crazy or trying to cover up some hidden madness because something really strikes a nerve with them?Thanks for the response,Mr. Aspinwall.Opinion stated,but neutral…refreshing to see on this board
I have one Jason P4 undermask with hock (which is great and will be my only non-Myers mask) and my other 4 are Myers as we spreak…
I’m just a big H1 & H2 nut and and my perfect collection would be a PERFECT H1 and PERFECT H2… That seems to be happening not too far from now so then I’m down do 2 Myers mask again and 1/3rd of my collection is non-Myers
People should just collect what they like to collect personally, who am I to judge on that…

By the way,I am sick of people stating “this is a public forum” as a way to start an argument or to stray off-topic.Take that for what it is,or continue to argue,but that is a fact and there are people like myself here that only say positive things or don’t say anything,that I am sure feel exactly the same.
An opinion is one thing,but like everything else in life,it is all how you use your words.I have never had a problem with you,or anyone on this board and I want to keep it that way.I just didn’t understand where that came from,when that is clearly not what we are speaking about here.
i agree. Ppl are allowed to collect what THEY want to. They choose to share it on here and talk about it among others. I believe it you can’t say something nice to someone then don’t say it at all. No need to talk smack over a forum. We are all members here to share a love of something, michael myers. Sure others collect other masks and such, but that is THEIR personal choice. I enjoy collecting just myers masks, although i do have one freddy bust. I find it intriuging how many different myers masks there are, as each has a different maker and look to it. I honestly can’t get enough of this. But, no one on here should be judging others or putting each other down for what he or she collects. if you like something someone has, congratulate them. If you think something is stupid that someone has or you think that the thread he or she posted is bogus, no need to bash them. You might not mean to offend them, but oftentimes the person will take it as offense if its something they are that passionate about.

Myerstat, I wouldn’t judge you if you had 150 “white masks” and nobody else should either. It’s fun, it’s a hobby, I have thousands of comic books and some people think that’s foolish, the great part is that I don’t care what others think about me. There are alot worse things a person could be doing than collecting masks
Agreed.My friend’s grandmother,who has recently passed away,used to collect dolls.The front room of the house was filled with them.They all looked the same to me,but I bet she knew different.
i am with you 100% myerstat! i have also seen people around saying collecting just myers is boring, but if someone wants to collect just myers they can. i don’t think it is boring at all. i am gonna keep building on my myers stuff for sure! myers intregues me the most! there are lots of different looks out there like you said so why do people say it is boring? also if someone does think it is boring, they should keep it to themselves, it isn’t their collection so why should they worry! infact i wish i was you, lol, i would love to own like 40 myers masks, i am not going to stop!!! you are totally right myerstat imo!!!
