New Tots Kirk!!

That person selling a Kirk for $100 on Amazon can suck it! Lol It looks good!!

Can’t wait!

Do we know if this is a new mold bc I know the old one was starting to show it’s age with weird thin latex on the chin area at times?

I’m hoping its less bloated, the old ones looked awkward IMO…

I’m not 100% about this, but it looks nearly identical to the Nightowl Shat mold. I could be completely wrong but it genuinely looks like a modified Shat with a few tweaks. Maybe not an entire Retool but looks very similar and the forehead details are exact minus the forehead crease prominence. Regardless I am happy Justin brought this to the surface. It has genuine 1975 Kirk lineage and is the most popular mask for realistic overhauls.

They dont use 1 mold for production on Mass produced masks or even indy for that matter… Several production molds are made using a master cast. You cant make 100s or 1000’s of kirks with a single mold in a timely manner for mass production… They go bad depending on who you ask after 10-30 pulls but I seriously without a doubt they used SEVERAL production molds on all mass production masks… Indy mask makers use several molds aswell… Its the luck of the draw when it comes to a mass produced mask pull. I hope that makes sense.

Man I wish more people understood this. Imagine if back in the day we had a mass-produced mask from the actual 1975 Kirk mold? The H40 did exactly that but the first run was nothing but complaints on sizing. Most people don’t realize exactly what you just said is 100% accurate.

People argue about certain things, but with independent masks it truly shows in Prototypes. I remember when the RZ Artifakt Proto was shown and RZ fans went wild. People don’t realize how it works entirely.

Even with indy masks, I feel as if people believe EVERY copy came from a master mold. You are beyond correct about the pulls requiring multiple molds. Even with the Maniac and Psycho we saw this and thats when maybe 50 of us ordered one.

For all of these mass-produced masks I can’t imagine how many molds are actually used. The best bet for people and I’ve always said this, is to physically go to a Party City. I myself didn’t believe in the size variety but it took 7 H40 masks until I was able to actually get one that fit me.

A master cast is obviously the grail of the entire project, but if only one mold is made, after maybe 25 people are ecstatic it’d genuinely lose detail until it actually cracked and was useless. The master cast could be used to make in excess of [theoretically - the H40 is the only non indy mask I own] 50 molds to meet the requirements or number or of orders to fulfill. It could be more than that, but I’ve seen the master of the “Art the Clown” from TOTS & 4 different molds made from the cast.

Thanks for your comment dude. I believe many will read it and genuinely understand why mass-produced masks vary in size and other avenues. Love how you said luck of the draw also. I’d never order anything mass-produced online after realizing there was almost a full 1" difference in the H40. Thanks again and have a great day

Its the same sculpt as their previous Kirk. They found a way to bring it back by using a workaround. Calling it simply “1975” and putting it under the Don Post category. They did this for the Skull, Witch and Pumpkin as well with Halloween 3, since they no longer have the rights to H3. They simply renamed them their old Don Post names and moved them to that category.

Also with their H2 mask, they renamed it and moved it to their H1 catalog. Excellent way to get around it all if you ask me :beers:

The genius of Justin Mabry and tiny sidekick Zephro  seriously though this is genius. I was wondering about the H3 set. I know the rights ran out and saw it listed as you said, but figured maybe they were getting off old product produced within the restraints of the contract? Do you know if they’re going to continue with H3 line after mid-2024?

And dude isn’t it incredible what Justin has done for TOTS? I am definitely not saying it didn’t take hard work because it did. But having the original H1 being the Nightowl Psycho, releasing the Kirk being the Nigjtowl Shat and the entire H2 line the Nightowl Lunatic!! I’ve always been mind-blown how this company has continued to grow.

Oh man and I even forgot my favorite mask of all time. The Hospital Mask was a huge hit and it being the Nightowl Maniac mold was amazing to me. I wasnt sure how the TOTS78 would be perceived being a ground up sculpt but it truly took the hobby by storm with copies being sent all over for rehauls. And the biggest shout-out to Justin for not only helping design the screen used H40 mask, but bringing it to us for 60 bucks. He really has had the biggest impact of anyone on this hobby and I’m genuinely happy for him! He deserves it.

Sorry for the long message brother, just so nostalgic looking at the Trick-or-Treat Studios line-up! I love the fact people are able to basically get 20 year old sculpts. The days of Rubies and Spirit Matthew Myers masks are over  finally genuine 1975 Kirk lineage. Hope you have a great night man

So you’re saying that any deformities in any Kirk purchased isn’t the mold but just a bad pull off of one of the many molds correct?
The paint up and detail look better on that most recent picture though. I wonder if they just tweaked the paint bc the eyes look like they’re set deeper than my previous Kirk’s

To be completely transparent; the paint job isn’t done by Justin personally. Many complained for example when the photo of all the masks drying in Mexico was leaked. Mass-produced masks basically were never a thing. I remember thinking I looked good in my half-mask from Rubies :joy:

And how do you define deformities? I haven’t seen any masks personally with deformities. If you mean a bent neck or something than that is just poor packing. And basically what you said is all true. The reason he said it’s luck is because it is mass produced. I have paid more than I’d like to disclose on my “grail H1” mask.

Are you wanting to keep it as a Kirk? The copies at the Party City here were actually nice. The paint doesn’t need much altering but yeah the hair is another story. This is literally the exact sculpt from which this new Kirk comes from. If there are deformities, return it. I always advise going in person for size and best paint etc but considering a Shat/Creep is $350, for $60 you really can’t beat it. Guys like Rowland Kelly make magic when overhauling these masks.

But here is the sculpt. I suck at photography but hope this gives you a better idea of what you’ll be getting. Even with this, I had JC finish it. I hope you find the perfect copy for you brother. Unless you have a very small town or people are fanatics and scoop up all these masks, I really really hope you’re able to see a few in person to figure out which copy is best for you.

What’s funny is this is true  so these are independent masks. Nightowl Lunatic (TOTS H2) Nightowl Shat (TOTS Kirk) Nightowl Maniac (TOTS Hospital Mask) - I’m confident the alterations he has made will make a mask that you genuinely love. But anyway I hope this photo gives an idea of which sculpt it comes from.

No the deformities I speak of are usually at the bottom of the jaw, below the chin, and the latex is much more thin and bumpy than the rest of the mask… VERY THIN. It’s happened on a couple of Kirk’s bc I used to convert them to Myers

Can anyone inform me why the hair isn’t blonde?

Also is the colour still a very light skin tone?

All good, yes they will continue production on the H3 masks, just under the Don Post category. The rest of the H3 products like the signs, the props and other things like that will not continue.

I absolutely love what Zephro and Justin are doing. I was on board from day one and am blown away how it’s grown. Things I could have only dreamed of seeing in stores as a kid in the 80’s. These kids today have ZERO clue how good they have it now.

Learn to appreciate it kids :beers:

That’s how it was on the previous run. They are just picking back up production as normal.

So not to mislead anyone they used a production copy photo.

Interesting. Any reason why they were not blonde to begin with? They did it on the Tramer so I don’t see any reasons they couldn’t do it originally.

Maybe with enough feedback they would change to a blonde hair, but the reason it’s not a priority is because they know 75 percent of those who buy this mask are going to convert it to a Myers and rehaul it anyway.

Of all the Myers related masks they make, this is by far the most converted/rehauled one, for obvious reasons.

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be blonde, I’m just saying it is what it is :person_shrugging:

Anyone know how long until they start taking pre-orders?

Bro  the TikTok brain generation will never understand how a group of grown men can say “yeah I threw on some coveralls and luckily scored The Mask and Halloween was awesome” and all understand what we’re talking about

Seriously though kids don’t realize how good they’ve got it. My new saying is going to be

“Don’t complain, I’ve a tale/
of days Samhain was our Myers grail”

It’s cool to have others like you who were around in 2000 man  you understand the struggle and how far the game has come. Also that’s amazing news for me. I thought they just had old deadstock H3 but I’ll be adding a trio with DP tags :jack_o_lantern:
