Original 75 Kirk Roll Call (With Pics)

So Jay bought Stan’s Kirk?
First pic is before it was restored. Looked just like Matt/mt garret’s and Billy’s copies before it was restored

I’m almost 100% sure, but only Jay can confirm it.

It seems the H2 extras were leftovers from an earlier production run?

Here’s something that Rick Sternbach, who worked as illustrator/designer on Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Nemesis – recently posted on his Facebook page:

"There are a number of historical threads through various production people over the years that validate that; I’ve got one of those threads here (I’ve told this story once or twice before). I was hired as an illustrator on HALLOWEEN 2 in 1981, working for production designer J. Michael Riva. In a supply cabinet at Pumpkin Pie Productions, we had one mask left from the original HALLOWEEN, and no idea where to get any others for the sequel. It appeared that we’d need to go check out some of the toys stores and such, but I noticed that there was some wording molded into the neck area. There was a model number, and ‘Don Post Studios.’ I made a call, read off the model number, and the word came back ‘It’s our Captain Kirk mask.’ I asked if we could buy a number of them, and was told ‘We’ll give you a box, just give us credit.’ With that, I turned the official dealings over to the higher-ups. Brush with greatness.

Great thread BTW.

I’ve noticed all the remaining Kirks seem to have a uniform hair color. There does seem to have been a small number with two-tone hair:

(Unless these are -all- the same mask?)

I’ve wondered if the Hero didn’t have brown on the sides and a bit of blond on top.

Also what’s this guy’s story? Is it the Prototype?

Jay Allen’s old Kirk looks really good. Shame what happened to it

Kaizu, you beat me to it. Jay’s new Kirk (If he did buy it), was from Stan Yeagher. I remember Stan had a website called Stan’s Basement, back in the early 2000’s. Apparently it was a backup mask to H2. Gotta love the Ole’ SHATTY

I remember this website! It had a very dramatic costume shot of the KH rare that’s stayed with me.

flamin’ Tramer, I believe you’re confusing the shimmer of the hair with it being a different color.

Interesting. It seems #5 & #13 have the same highly lustrous hair that goes from blond to brown depending on the angle of light. They also have the more obviously multi-toned paint job:

I guess the fiber and finish probably varied between runs.

Did anyone save other photos taken at same time as this one? I remember there were more.

I remember seeing them in a KH Rare thread if I’m not mistaken.

Yea, Colby was asking me if I still had them and its seems I lost them all in my previous PC :frowning:
It was a whole convo with me and a senior member who shared a bunch of those way back…

Found them!

You rock!!
Thanks Ryan!!

Does this count as a 75 Kirk?

Psh ya beat me to it. I had those all saved on my PC and was gonna post them.

I’m not going to include it because of the fact that it’s not a mask and a few others

Also, because we can’t prove that it is a 1975. My guess is still that it’s a first generation recast that was made for a digital scan / enlargement, used to produce the 90s Kirks.

Look at the detail on that thing! I’ve never seen that top picture are there anymore from that set? Wish they were producing blanks from it.

The blank posted above was the so called foam master found when Don Post Studios was sold and they liquidated everything in storage. Don Post employees and others stated it was a blank pull made from an old production mold and foam filled. So, yes it’s a Kirk.

Don Post Studios employees wrote on it this inscription:
