Didn’t know Bry owned it(thought Billy still had it).
Great work on the restoration!
The father of many replicas…
May the best man win :drinkers:

Wow, what an awesome piece of history. Best of luck to the bidders. Hope that one goes to a good home.

I’ll have a grand on it.

Looks like an HMK! :open_mouth:

Actually that is a GREAT compliment for the HMK Jimi. Like you said, that original DP Kirk looks just like the HMK

Ugh Goddammit, now I wish I didn’t spend my money on screen-used ā€œConeheadsā€ head prop! :imp: but it will be fun to watch!

Cool! Should be interesting to see what this goes for. Lots of history behind it, no doubt.
I believe it’s a smaller mask than most 75 Kirks out there from the comparison pics I’ve seen… very unique.

Bry, did you use a casting of the Medley’s Kirk to fill in the eyes, etc? It does have a striking resemblance to the HMK.
And great job on the restoration!

Interesting…
When Bry posted that comparison shot of this kirk with the 1st version of the HMK, the size looked dead on.
Billy said it was small and even Sam said the ones he held were small.
Then there are the kirks Josh had the owners measure the head size which were a size 24.
The kirk from that thread on the HMA(Jake’s avatar) looks huge.
Just kinda shows that the sizes did tend to vary depending on the run. :bulb:

Thanks Chad, and everyone else for the kind words on the restoration. I really hate to see it go, but since it does have to go, I’m really hoping it’s to someone here that will appreciate it. Chad, as for the size, it’s actually right in range of the average sizes that Josh did in this thread https://forum.michael-myers.net/t/don-post-studios-1975-captain-kirk-measurements/39185/1

The biggest problem with the first small HMKs was the length (vertical measurement from the chin to the top of the head), that was much smaller than the original Kirks. It was just a colossal screw up on my part.

As for the eyes, yes indeed you are correct. I laid this Kirk face down n the original pressing of the HMK’s face and lined the eyecuts up with the uncut eyes of the mold and then filled them in with urethane.

Thanks again guys!

Hope it goes to a good home…

It looks Great, Bry! That’s definitely an awesome piece of Trek/Myers history right there! :open_mouth:

What an amazing restoration job :open_mouth:

Seriously, that’s quite some work. It looks so much better this way.

Awesome, now that mask has really gone up in bids from where it started…Dean

Wish I had the kind of funds necessary to put in a serious bid, but alas I do not.

Color me just another person who is watching that auction like a little kid just anxious to see what kind of value that bad boy fetches

Wow!!! :open_mouth: I wish i had disposable income!

it just went up over $1000. this should be interesting.

That is one hell of a restoration! :open_mouth: If I had the funds I would buy that in a second.
