I have a great question. How are masks supposed to be worth anything when makers just keep bring back the same mask later in time. There is no such thing as limited edition or last run masks. It really sucks because it kills the value for collectors. Hell i have heard the psycho LAST run was 3 years ago and now they are back. just makes masks not worth anything anymore. Does anyone else feel this way?
Justin never said the psycho would be limited, he can bring it back any time he wants. The pyscho is worth what a buyer is willing to pay…
Justin is releasing the mask again, he has a family and most likely wants to make a nice xmas for them.
This is his job and he needs to make a living.
Releasing it again won’t bring down the value of the copies already out there.
IMO it will make them worth more as they are older masks now.
I disagree. Jon look at your psycho copy that justin had with the 3 mohair blend. Thats whats hes offering on the copy’s now. Why would someone pay 1500 for yours when they can go to justin and have him make the same looking mask for 250. That def lowers the cost of what its worth personal copy or not. It hurts the value bottom line
It hurts the value if your a collector bottom line They are a dime a dozen nowadays. Hell justin is smart with still releasing them I have nothing against that but it hurts collectors
I dont ever recalling Justin saying that they would be limited…As stated above he can make as many as he chooses…I think its great that the Psycho’s are still around…As far as certain copies, its no secret that certain ones out there are better than others…It happens with all mask…Not one mask that has been released In all my time collecting have all looked the same…So these copies will get what people are willing to pay for them, its just how it works…A pyscho will always hold value no matter how many of them are out there especially the better copies…I mean think about it…With as many H1’s that are out there the Psycho still remains at the top and one of the best mask ever produced in this world of myers and horror…Just my opinion…
it’s his decision if he wants to release them or not
hell he could even start selling them for 10 dollars shipped if he really wanted to
but older runs will go for more because each of Justin’s masks have a year written in them
plus each year the Psycho and re-releases differ from the last
just be thankful we have such amazing artist that make such good masks
not to be a dick but this is just my opinion
plus maybe some people didn’t have the money the year before and couldn’t snag one up
so he is helping those people in doing this
Well if the masks are a dime a dozen I will take one of each now, PM me sellers and I will give you my address and $1.20 cents (is shipping included?) Prices change and “limited” is just a word. It’s like a sequel to a movie…if it makes money you will see it again. I could cry to the world about how my comic book collection lost most of it’s value because of ebay, but what’s the point? Nobody cares and it’s just the way things go.
Your mask will probably hold it’s value if it’s a good copy regardless of whether it’s released again. I know my 1st printing of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight” is worth more than the 3rd printing that came out, does that make sense?
absolutely not man, im fully against limited runs. im in this hobby for the love of Myers and that white mask and while i collect them, i dont collect them with future monetary value in mind.
lets keep the psycho for instance. say justin quit making the psycho for good last year. now say a hardcore myers fan wanting a great myers mask joins the site tomarrow, he sees a psycho and thinks its the closest looking replica out there but only to find out that you cant buy them anymore because they were a limited run. just because he didnt know about the site or where to buy one last year, he missed out. i think the new discoverers of independant mask makers deserve a chance to purchase their dream mask just as the lucky few who were around when the mask was released. a limited run is only to drive the price of a mask which its artist feels is near perfect. however an unlimited run of a near perfect replica will fetch far more than 30k over a period of afew years. why should only 20 people have what is considered the best? from a value collectors stand point thats great, but for die hard fans that sucks.
I don’t mean to sound mean, but cry me a river. If you’re into collecting for the cash then I would never want to do business with you. Why would you want MORE limited runs on masks? That makes no sense to me. Sorry if I come off really rude, but this topic just baffles me.
I’d say the majority of people here aren’t buying masks to pad their retirement funds. There are plenty of other things you could be collecting if you’re only interested in the monetary value. If you really think about it, there are only a handful of Myers related masks that actually hold their value. I think the failing economy has really opened a lot of eyes to the true value of some of these masks. If you compare the sale prices of certain mask today as opposed to a year or so ago, the difference is incredible. It’s really nice to see the prices coming down now because in my opinion things were getting totally out of hand for a while. I remember when the first converted H78’s started showing up, and people were offering their first born children for them. Now there are at least a few new ones showing up in the classifieds every week for a few hundred dollars. Hopefully both trends will continue . . . fewer limited runs and realistic prices.
