Preview of the ToTS Poster Knife

Managed to snag a photo from someone on the ToTS Fan Group on FB, supposedly a photo taken by the said individual who visited the ToTS warehouse (?) and came across one of the knives actual product (didn’t save the image of the regular knife). Don’t mind of the super-reflective chromed blade though!

I would repaint it

With Silver Rub-N-Buff?

Pointless knife

I almost bought that but then I thought about what I would do with it. How do you display something like that?

Both the Standard H78 and Poster Knife has this Reflective Chromed blade unlike the prototypes from earlier this year.

Cheap plastic knives are closer to real knives than this. Another moronic decision by ToTS.

You could probably brush the chrome with a scotch brite pad or steel wool to make it look better.

I screen recorded a live video from a guy at TOTS booth, he holds the knife up, talks about how it’s metal, and bangs it against a metal shelf. It clings against the shelf. If it’s not exactly like that then that is false advertising. If anyone wants to see the video, PM me and I’ll try to show you

Love it! Looks exactly how it should, if you ask me! I always felt that the Poster Knife had a bit of reflection to it, more so than the movie knife. :myers:

I mean, let’s face it, for $20 what did people expect? JC quality?

Honestly, this is a very easy fix for such an affordable accurate knife. A bit of fine grit sand paper would tone the sheen down. At worst, you could spray paint the blade if necessary. I might pick one up at some point.

This is exactly how I felt about it. The poster knife comes off as very reflective in the poster, and that is the only place we see a knife like it. So it’s perfectly fine in my opinion! And it’s only $20!

As for the Lamson knife, if it’s chromed out like that, then it wouldn’t take much to dull it down and give it a proper look. A $20 dollar knife replica that I may have to scuff up a bit to give it a more screen used look? I will take it!

So the Lamson knife has a reflective blade or not?
[/quote]
Yes, but I forgot to save that image before it was taken down.

Well, definitely gonna have to spray paint it with a metallic type when I can… why did they have to make the actual knife like that?

realistic effect, I guess

That isn’t realistic at all… that makes it seem very fake.

It takes a lot to get a blade that shiny, but it can be done

It’s too reflective . Maybe use a silver type spray paint

This looks better than that crap. I just bought a 7 dollar spirit knife and uses chrome spray paint.

I buffed my 12inch Forschner into a mirror finish like this. And the RZH2 bowie knife was originally a mirror finish and artificially weathered to look well used. It’s not an unrealistic look for a knife at all.
