Red Kap Coveralls Ends Conversion

Also if you’re interested… here’s my first full myers. It wasn’t the greatest pair of overalls, but they did the trick. This was at London Comic Con last year, so I’m hoping to get some good photos of the new one in October :).

What grit did you use ? I was using like 120 and it seemed to be wearing down the the material around the hole. No worries dude , appreciate the reply ! Thats awesome for your first try, pretty incredible actually. And ya i ordered hair from etsy , pricey but pretty fast delivery. You got the mold looking really good on mask/coveralls. Shit upon closer inspection looks like you redid the knife ? Can 6pu give me some photos yours actually looks really close. I was able to pause and screenshot on the one 78 remake kill in ends to get a better look at one side of the knife and looking at yours it looks really close. :ok_hand: ill see what i can get by cranking the brightness on your photos.

So I used 60 grit paper, just very lightly to get some fraying, I then hit it with some 320 to add the weathering, and trimmed off any frayed material I didn’t like the look of. The material does wear down, but I like that look  .

The knife is actually a custom made one! I 3D printed a base, and used 1mm foam for the blade, and 4mm for the handle. Adding texture with tin foil, and a wood grain, and some perma-blood. It’s not the absolute best attempt, but certainly did the job in photos!

Also, here are my boots. I’m pretty happy with them, so I think I’ll be keeping them for the upgraded version.

Thx for the reply ,greatly appreciated, knife looks dope. Damn those are some gnarley boots!

Thanks bro! They’re Rock & Reptile boots. Probably one of the closer UK alternatives I found for the H40 Myers and are still in production. I have no idea why companies such as Workrite discontinue their most “famous“ items… they could be making so much money xD.

Ya its true. Allows sellers to charge an arm and a leg when they do that though.
Really great stuff dude. I can’t wait to see your v2.0.

Hey my dude, I guess i never asked what else you got in the collection or stuff you worked on, im always interested.
Also, what’s your favourite Halloween other than '78.

Honestly, the Ends Myers stuff is the only real thing. I’ve got a second Ends mask on the way to rehaul, but apart from that, everything is there :). I’m mainly a Star Wars collector, so most of my space consists of LEGO ships, lightsabers and helmets.

I’ve seen the other H40 masks but they’re all too small for someone with a big head xD. Although I do want to get the 1978 mask as I think the original is one of the most important to have!

Cool cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:. Ya im hesitant to get an H40 have to measure my noggin i suppose. I guess i could just display it if it doesnt fit, really want to rehaul one. Just love the attention to detail in everyone of the masks from the trilogy. And ya 78 is a must have.

Finally got my new Ends mask, and have just finished stripping off all the stock paint (except some ultra-stubborn parts near the neck). Took me 3 days in total and my fingers will probably take double to recover xD.

Now it’s time to build up the brown / black base coat :grimacing:

Get a soft dremel next time , works wonders. Soaking it over night in dishwasher detergent water can help weaken it too.
I see your blank and raise you a blank lol this one was stubborn af too.

All good bro, you’re alot like me , i only learn the hard way lol. This stuff works great to get off the clear coat of tots, amd weaken the latex as well, can be left on over night, will not damage the mask (ive done this multiple times), and if you ever mess up, its the quickest way to get the paint job off, (safer than varnish remover/acetone etc) just leave it on for a bit, then use a cloth or rag that is smooth (spray some of the ez stuff on the rag as well and start rubbing the mask when the ez stuff is still wet (let it sit about 45 mins before you start trying to wipe.)
Make sure you put a garbage bag underneath , it strips paint easily, but for whatever reason it does have trouble getting off hairline glue, and some paint jobs, but does work really well for liquid latex (kudos to you for getting yours off, not sure if they use the same mask glue and or paint for masks)

When you go to paint, make sure you do a rubbing alcohol cleaning, helps adhesion (if you dont do this already)
Dream on and onward and upward! Lol

Awesome! The hairline glue was one of the worst parts for me also. Just kept pulling off in the smallest pieces which was kinda sad xD. I’ll for sure be giving this a go once I get a ‘78 mask!

Ya its a pain in the arse. Dremel will be your best friend next time. Just make sure you are at lowest speed, dont need to use alot of pressure and are using soft heads.
Finally got this one done, used a dremel and then varnish remover to get some stray hairs out (dremel wont remove stuck down hair fyi which you can see in this photo) not gunna strip this one down all the way, instead im going over detailed areas that are covered over too much with paint with a dremel.

The coveralls and mask are done!

The mould did seem a little excessive on the right shoulder, so I’m not 100% sure if it needs something else. Any thoughts are welcome :).

Ya I’d scale it back a bit , pick away at the excess maybe add some more to the other shoulder and arm (not excessively tho lol) could also add some more of the scorched look to that left shoulder (your right) as it is still on the Ends just not as prominently as the kills coveralls. Did you seal the mask ?

Been making a quick knife for the upgraded version using my trusted 3D printed core, and EVA foam. The blade is just in need of some blood! (and the handle needs sealing)
