hrm…I guess I didn’t find it that extreme. Some of the kills from H2 on were equal on the brutal level. The kills (example the Strodes) weren’t too drawn out and excessive. It could have easily been like the beginning of HIGH TENSION. Again…it wasn’t a 100% true to the original remake so the fact that Rob deviated on several levels (violence being one) didn’t bother me.
I also personally don’t worry about the “integrity” of the series. That went out the window when JC sold his rights.
Damn right man the integrity of the original Halloween was lost ALONG time ago. Halloween hasnt been the same since the original and i dont know why people expect it to be 30 years later. after beeing handed H3 through H8, i say the remake is the best Halloween since H2.
now i have onlry read some of the discussions so if someone has mentioned this i’m sorry:
some have mentioned that him finding his sister in the RZ movie wasn’t believable
but, it was the same in H1 if you count H2 as a continuing movie…
yea, i didn’t care to much for the language but, “TOTALLY” got on my nerves, also…
i love H2 but, some scenes were far fetched, too…walking through a glass door (come on)
being shot 6 times then, shot even more…
there were a lot of unanswered questions in the Original H1 that RZ was trying to answer for us
and i think he did pretty good doing so…
but, some things shouldn’t be answered because you know to much about everything and it sort of
takes away from the suspence…and RZ remake wasn’t suspenceful it was definately another type…
now when i saw the RZ movie at the theatre…i was disappointed
but, i watched it again and liked it better…so the more i watch it the better it gets
now the Orignial H1 was “NEVER” scary to me…at all…nor were any of the other Halloweens
I just liked Loomis and Myers…

Alright I feel like I need to say something on this. Could we please stop referring to Rob’s Halloween as H1! It is not H1 in anyway shape or form. A remake is not a first movie in a series!

most of the times now when a remake or a sequel comes out for a Halloween or a Friday the 13th movie
the only thing that really excites me anymore is the New Mask…
so, that’s why i guess i don’t care what people call it…
I just think that most people here understand that the Original Halloween is not to be confused with RZ’…
And it’s going to be really bad now with H2 coming out because…it’s H2 so now we have to refer to Halloween II as HII and the new one as H2. It’s confusing bullsh**.
