ok, i know ALOT of you thought Rob Zombie’s contribution to the Legendary Thriller, Halloween was trash. I however, Did not. Heres why. Rob Said him self, It was part Carpenter and Part zombie. He wanted to make a movie with his vision and John’s in mind. I liked Rob’s michael alot more than john’s because Rob’s Isnt a zombie, unlike johns, Rob’s michael can Walk with a glaicier pace, has agillity, is far more fierce and hands down more aggressive, And In Carpenters movie Michael Was only 5’10 inches tall. As opposed to Rob’s which was 7’2. and I dont care if you hated Rob’s or not, he would’ve beat out The 1978 michael, although i like the '78 movie JUST A LITTLE more just because it’s a classic. Now I have read That Dimension Films Has began the porduction Of H3, this has nothing to do, With ROb Zombie, As for john carpenter as well. This movie will be directed by Patrick Lussier who will bring his own and eniterley new vision to the table. It also states, this will have nothing to do with that B.S. Season of the witch (thank God) Anyway, Please Reply, Leave Whether you like, Zombie or not & why? Who’s Michale Did u like more? and what do u expect from H3?
O boy i can see where this thread is going
i loved zombies take on both H1 & H2
i also have been in love with the franchise since i seen JC H1
im not going to say whos is better i think i can safely say that JC’s myers was perfect in 78
as for patrick lussier im just glad i get to see Michael back on the big screen atleast one more time
but i think he should stick to being an editor not a director
that does not mean hes going to do a bad job on H3
P.S.
H3 S.O.T.W. Was a good movie
I really like Zombies take on the film
but its no where close to the original
Robs Myers is more aggressive
BUT!!! Johns Myers would kick the crap out of him
Rob’s was a sissy boy who couldn’t suck it up and deal with his f-ed up life. Carpenter’s was The boogeyman, plain and simple. The first Halloween had nothing to do with Laurie being Myers sister. Myers was just the boogeyman.
Very true even though I did like Rob’s vision oh how Mikey was.
Exactly
Daeg looked like a fat girl
Obviously, this board is split down the middle with haters and lovers. I’m not really going to put my two cents in, to each his own.
However, there was something humbling and “innocent” with the original series (up to 4) that the remake and sequel could not tap into. I like Myers the character as much as the next guy, but I’d rather have the series be finished and over with than continue to get stuck with terrible screenplays. In my mind, the entire series ended with H20. I have no love for resurrection, and none for the new slew of brutality. I’m not one of those people who say “as long as Myers is in it, I’ll go see, and I’ll love it”. I like “stories”, that are well written and honest - even if they are “simple”.
The character in the remake was so different than the original idea. When I first saw the remake, I likened it to a fabled remake of JAWS.
Imagine we’re watching a remake of JAWS, with an entire back story about Bruce, the shark - and told from his point of view. His family life is horrible, he doesn’t get along with the other sharks, and so he decides to wade in shallow water and kill all the people on the beach. But we never really get to know the people on the beach, because we are stuck under murky water with the Shark, following his brutal rampage. All captured on poorly shot shot shaky cam grainy film. We then meet chief Brody, Quint and Hooper in the last 15 minutes, and the Shark kills them all before being taken down by Brody’s exploding oxygen tank. The End. And I feel kinda sorry for Bruce. Snif.
That’s not the way I want my monster to be on film. I want to be AFRAID of the monster. I don’t want to sympathize with him. I want to know the protagonists, and sympathize with them. Then, when the monster attacks, I’m scared too! What an idea!
I’m interested in seeing this new one, because I’m a sucker. (I saw the last one…) If they get a decent story, and tell it from a solid point of view, then perhaps it can be interestingly invigorated.
And in answer to your question, Carpenter’s Myers was the best one. He created it.
So you’re saying you would prefer Rob Zombie’s 7 foot tall Sasquatch over Nick Castle???
Is this you Rob??? Nick Castle will always be the Boogey man. Tyler Mane will always be the former wrestler who played Beast in X-MEN. In my opinion having Mane play Michael Myers was a complete joke. Just not a fan of him sorry. But I hear ya man. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
This guy speaks the truth! Very well said! Michael turned to killing people in RZ’s film because he was so tormented and picked and mistreated as a child. Michael turned to killing people in H78 simply because he was overtaken by something purely and simply evil. Two very different approaches to taking Michael from a young child to the “Boogeyman”. I prefer John Carpenter’s approach myself.
Here we go again another waste of mm.net space talking about zombie vs carpenter. This site is becoming Kleenex .net.

Yup, Justin speaks the truth!
I think that Nick Castle was more evil and intimidating is because Tyler Mane, was tall, and vicious and more aggresive, BUT it does not matter for the size of the killer. I mean Nick had the walk that made you fear from the stealth he had instead of a huge BigFoot grunting But most of real life killers are short as well. It does not matter on the appearance, because that will get you seen
instead, stealth is more agreeable for me to be a killer LOL
You’re comparing apples to oranges, or pumpkins to cantaloupes if you prefer. There was no adult Michael Myers in the original Halloween, there was only The Shape. What made the original so powerful was that throughout the movie you thought they were dealing with a man, despite Loomis’s attempts to convince you otherwise. When he was hurt, he fell and he bled, but none of the wounds he sustained were immediately life-threatening, so it was believable that a ‘crazy person’ would recover from them and continue to pursue Laurie. It wasn’t until the end, after being shot point blank and walking away that we the audience finally understood what he was, or wasn’t. I wish everyone here could have had the first-hand experience that some of us were lucky enough to have had back in theaters in '78. When Loomis looked out onto the empty ground, at the spot where The Shape should have been and that music started…the stunned incredulity and fear from the audience was palpable. This is what every sequel, hell every knock-off have been unable to create or recreate. I only wish I had been able to experience Hitchcock’s unveiling moment in Psycho first-hand. There is an ocean of distance between the original Halloween and anything that has come after it.
Bruce
Most of the “Carpenter” bits were pretty much shot-for-shot rips off the original movie.

Irrelevant. Your reasoning is weak, since the whole “height makes might” argument is flimsy in the case of horror movies. Let’s see- a body who’s been living in an institution his whole life with no exercise to really speak of that would encourage such substantial growth, with no special kind of nutrition to speak of to support such growth… not to mention Sheri- I mean Debbie’s height, which isn’t that tall to begin with. Are we to assume that Debbie slept with a giant? Also, in the horror aspect of this, a 5’10 man is considered MUCH scarier since it is BECAUSE of his average appearance that makes his “powers” unpredictable. Plus, michael seems much smarter in the original compared to his remake counterpart. Also, isn’t it much more frightening that an everyday man is hunting you down, and you have NO way to pinpoint him because he’s in a costume much like everyone else on that day? If he was tall, that would make it easier to find him. With his average physique, he’s literally a ghost, able to blend in at will. By the way, what is a “glaicier pace”? Does that mean he moves slowly, like a glacier?

I liked Carpenter’s MIchael more. I don’t really know what to expect from H3.
Sorry, but I have to be a jerk really quick, ok? Kelsey Grammar played ‘Beast’ in the X-Men movies. Tyler Mane played Sabretooth. Big difference.
Thank you
Oh god another VS thread…There is no way RZ’s version is better than JC’s…But thats just my opinion…And you said JC’s myers was a zombie and RZ’s myers would take him…That alone did not make sense…If JC’s myers was in fact a zombie(Which he wasnt) then he would take RZ’s myers in a heart beat in that fashion alone…Plus I think you have your sizes wrong…But Deathclutch said it perfect…JC’s myers was just overtaken by something pure evil he was not a zombie…Now I loved Tyler manes portrayal of Michael myers…I think he did an excellent job…His size does not bother me at all and him being a wrestler has no bearing on his roles in other films…It was just his profession before he got into acting…His size alone is terrifying and when you put that man in that costume he is just utterly menacing…To me that is awesome and kicks ass…But JC’s Myers will always be the boogeyman and no one will ever change that IMO…I mean its how it all started…It is where it all originated…
OOOOPS that’s what I meant.
Sorry bro I always confuse Beast with Sabertooth.
Hugo
Just remember, Beast is blue.
Blue= Beast
Sharp Teeth and Nails= Sabretooth
LOL thanks man. Not a huge fan of X-MEN. That’s why I made that mistake. But now I know. THanks again dude
ive stated on many occasions i think Mane is the best Myers since Castle/Tony/Wallace
and the remake is the best Halloween since H2. ofcourse thats only my opinion.
as far as H3D? i dont know, we’ll have to wait and see what unfolds. in another 6 months we should have enough info for there to be several “this is gonna be cool, no this is gonna suck” threads
