Scream (1996) Boots Help

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has ever found out what the exact type of boots used in the original Scream film were used? Or even if the original screen used ones are still around? They seem to be a black ankle boot with a strange sole. I also noticed they are worn by Billy in some parts of the film.

I haven’t been able to find much and would like to know if anyone has attempted to find a pair or has found a pair? I also got some decent screen shots on my if anyone doesn’t know what they look like. Hope you guys might have some leads or something.

As far as I know, they were Doc Martins. Not sure on the exact ones, though.

Hmm that’s what I thought at first as well, but haven’t been able to find a pair that match the film versions myself. I’m just curious as to where you heard that, do you have a source?

Been doing some research on this myself. Downloading Scream 1996 in blu Ray. You get some nice shots during the Sydney attack scene too.

Just word of mouth, really. I think it’s just an assumption they were Doc Martins due to their popularity at the time.

Awesome man! I’ve only got a crappy version on my phone and a low quality dvd so I can’t get good quality screenshots. Hope you’re able to get good screen shots. Sidney’s attack scene definitely seems to give a good look at the boots. There’s also a decent shot of one of them at the part where the phone falls out of Billy’s pocket.

Also I noticed the movie boots have a sole similar to the ones from these 1990s combat boots. Although it’s still not exact.

These are the closest Docs Model I have found that have that Toe shape, the model is Air Wair

The part where the final eyelets are near the toe don’t match nor do they match any other pair of Dr. martens, so I don’t think they’re Dr. martens.

They’re definitely not. No pairs I can find match anyways. Most are very far off

Yea unless there was some kind of one off model, we shouldn’t consider the Dr. martens as an option anymore.

This will help out, there is an extra piece of leather on the boots, and they’re only Ankle height

Nice, I also got a screenshot of the scene after the attack. Billy is definitely wearing the same boots.

I’m betting they’re 70’s-90’s Swat or Police boots

Most likely. They definitely aren’t military issue boots. I collect US military boots and have yet to come across a pair like these.

Yeah anyone that’s studied Doc Martins at all would know straight away these aren’t at all. If anything these look more like a 90’s pair of Timberlanes or even Bass or Skechers. I’ll do some digging soon to see if I can’t help locate them.

I’m just surprised to find they were ankle boots. I always assumed they were taller, but you learn something new everyday.

Those are good searches to start with. Timberland could be a possibility.

Yea, looks like in all the films except for 4, he wears or seems to wear short boots/work boots.

I spent last night googling all the brands, timberland,skechers,Lugz,Kodiak none of them match the soles or the extra
pieces of leather on the sides/upper.

I hope these are going to be elusive like bigfoot and the Halloween 5 boots. They look like casual workboots almost dressy

They’re some kind of ankle high black leather work boot, but that’s just SO broad. I’m hoping we can find something distinct with the blu Ray is done.
