You know, this makes me wonder if these and other film’s boots that have yet to be determined, such as those in Halloween 5, were just generic, off the rack boots. For example, I recall seeing store-exclusive “brands” that would be harder to track down if you weren’t familiar with the stores they come from. Stores like Kmart and Sears come to mind. In fact, about 10 years ago, I bought a pair of work boots at Sears, and they were literally under the brand name “Sears”. The Sears logo was even on the insole.
As for Kmart, I remember a brand named “Thom McCan”, or something along those lines. Just a thought, but these boots could be from a store-exclusive brand such as those, which would explain the difficulty in tracking them down. Which is weird, as you’d think that a film crew would want to use a top of the line name brand, but who knows?
Something that just occurred to me is that I used to talk with the S1 costume designer quite a bit. Lemme ask her if she knows anything, I’ll post the reply here!
God bless you for that Did you have any luck tracking down Simon Tuke, the costume designer from H5?
Ive pondered that too for H5. It was a quick low budget production for video. So I imagine thats what they did, they didnt
have tons of money for custom made boots. Everything was thrown out after wrapping filming H5
For the Scream boots, Ive tried Caterpillar boots even Terra brand. None really matching so far
No such luck. Reached to his email, no response so I left a VM… nothing. If no response soon I’ll probably go through a friend to see what’s going on. I’ll keep it updated in the H5 boots thread!
Simon Tukes’s talent agency is Innovatveartists.com. Maybe they have more up to date contact info/ another way to contact him. His resume was still up to date 2016-2017.
The actor who played the janitor passed recently, So i guess tuke is our only hope.
For the Scream boots we know theyve got some distinctive features. We know theyre 6" inch boots.
And they look like they have only one thin cushion at the top lace/ankle.
I dont see any speedlacers from the current screencaps
Also from the one overhead toe screencap, it looks like it might be “Pebbled” leather.
When leather comes in with the wrinkle/texture look to it
I did what searching I could with what we have to go off of with hardly any luck. I did find a pair of Danish Military boots with what looks like to be matching soles with the two tone of black/gray and sort of patterned leather. I also found a sorta similar pair that all I could gather as far as info was a European winter military boot. After looking at the hero boots with the very unique sides with how the leather is placed and shaped and the two tone sole they favor more of the European style military boots than anything. It’s definitely not impossible but it could also be totally off.
Yeah I understand that, just finding boots with unique similarities to the hero boots since they are very unique themselves. Basically just trying to gather some small possible leads for other people searching.
I bought some boots that look as close to screen accurate as I could find. At first I was going to find some old Doc Martins on eBay, but I realized the stitching isn’t correct at all; no matter which ones you found from the 90s. I ran across some random boots that pretty much matched perfectly.
