Yeah Jay, it’s a pretty noticable difference. The larger one just falls onto my head, where the smaller one I actually have to pull on.
Like you said, definitely better than those ridiculous Illusive Concepts or Cinema Secrets masks from back in the day. Those were down right horrendous. This mask, even though it’s not all that good, at least is somewhere in the ballpark. Even if it’s in deep left field lol.
I can absolutely see the difference. The smaller one has a much better fit.
The batch sent over to my local Spirit are all around 25". They look ridiculous on my 23.5" head. I guess I’ll wait until next year to see if they send over some small ones. Although, now that you and Jay mentioned it, I can’t unsee how off the profile is.
In terms of “out of the box” readiness I find the TOTS H1 on the weaker end of the spectrum, not as bad as the H2 or H18 masks, but not nearly as good as the H3, H4, H6, or Kills masks either. I would personally choose the Boogeyman mask for an H1 over their official H1 mask. Unfortunately, there’s so many good TOTS masks you never see in stores, the Boogeyman being among them. This year is the first time I saw the TOTS Frankenstein mask in stores. Bit big on me, but it looked really good.
Happy they ended up moving my local spirit to a new location instead of totally disappearing for the year as it initiallyseemed. Will have to head there soon after I get home tomorrow from vacation, as it just opened this week. In the mean time, I went to one today and picked up this.
I’ve been going to my local Spirits in Fort Collins and Loveland. The Loveland location is the biggest, so I decided to, in my infinite wisdom and sense of risk, decided to go there dressed in full Myers getup with my comic con playlist blaring from my pocket. The staff loved it. Got a few good scares in over two hours. I was heppy. Not happy. Heppy. As far as I can tell, I’m welcome back there in other costumes. I’ll be going there and taking a few pictures or having one of the staff take my picture so I can post it here eventually. Same with donating as The Boogeyman, The Shape, or Michael Myers.
The Spirit near me didn’t have that knife… bummer.
It did have this magnet that I thought was kind of funny.
They have these pins, too. The package is supposed to have one knife, one mask, and one television that has a picture of Myers on the screen. The TV pin is really quite ugly.
Two weeks ago, I noticed only one package out of all of them didn’t have the TV, but instead had two masks and one knife. I didn’t buy it at that time as I wasn’t totally sold on the pins… I don’t know where to put them. But, to my surprise, it was still there yesterday so I had to get it.
Also, I stopped by a local shop and they had a new shirt. None in my size, though. The lady behind the counter said, “let me check the one in the case up on the wall.” Sure enough, it was my size. The only one in the store. It’s a sweet shirt, my only gripe is I wish it had the '78 pumpkin instead of the '81.
I saw that magnet lol. It’s silly the stuff they make. They actually had a really nice MM couch pillow, but they ruined it by writing “SLAY” on it… I’m not a fan of stuff that brings fictional characters into our world. Like, if I want a Crystal Lake sign, I want it to be like it is in the film, not say “Home of Jason Vorhees” on it, ya know?
Great score on that pin set! I saw it the other day, and yes that TV pin was pretty bad. The other 2 are great, though!
Agreed on the pumpkin, but still that’s really nice.
Something I noticed that doesn’t need it’s own thread, but thought was humorous.
Below is the pic Spirit uses on their site for the H2 mask. Now, many sites display products inaccurately due to ambivalence or ignorance, but I’m thinking this time it’s on purpose.
Anyone that’s seen Stranger Things knows the second photo and how insanely popular that character is as well as the show itself. I wonder if that was intentional or just a coincidence?
