It has come to my attention that several people are upset that Terry of Cemetery Gate Productions is allowed to have a membership here, based upon the accusations against him regarding a stolen 75 kirk mask.
It is to my understanding that this case was brought to court. I have been informed that Terry was not found guilty. The details of this ruling are unknown to me. Terry was not fined and did not go to jail.
I can’t ban him based on this information. This does not mean I am taking any sides here whatsoever. I’m merely making a decision based off of what we know to be 100% factual evidence.
I’m tired of dealing with this issue. If you have a direct problem with Terry/CGP, email him through his website. From my records it shows he very rarely comes here/uses this site. As always, the mask feedback forum is open if you have made an order and wish to post a review.
Note to Members: Outside of the 75 Kirk being stolen there are a handful of other accusations surrounding Terry/CGP. Members are encouraged to use caution.
This is a good debate topic. Weird to see so few responses.
Unfortunately, no one else in the ‘scammer’ feedback thread (which I noticed Terry is now removed from) is getting as much attention or has the site overruled claims by others against those members or persons… except for Terry. No evidence for the claims? What about fake, photocopied signatures of Dick Warlock’s on the COAs with the Warlock masks, clay pressing the NMM to make the Warlock mask, the 30th fiasco, etc., etc. The best way to predict future behavior is by looking at past behavior. Terry has threatened me in the past for posting about him, and I made Derek aware of that. So to Terry: I’m not attacking you here, just responding to Derek’s “Where’s the evidence?” standard that none of the other 40+ people in that scammer thread are getting.
As far as taking him off the scammer list… maybe this was a good move. If I were on that list I would demand the site provide evidence OR remove me just as was done with Terry. It’s libel if its not true and I would think the site needs to consider the content is not member placed but placed by a moderator which holds the site responsible for the claims should they not be true and are considered damaging to someone.
It’s a messy thing and I certainly wouldn’t want to have to make those decisions. I don’t envy Derek or the moderators.
As far as im aware there was an out of court settlement in favour of Jay Allan in regards to the stolen 75 Kirk,and Mr Allan was compensated for his loss
I could care less wether hes here or not…Derek this is your site and you are the boss, but I had no idea you had to be found guilty by the real courts to be banned from mm.net…I dont think jay allen lied about having his 75 kirk taken/destroyed and then shipped a horrible recast in place of it(my opnion).I think we should do away with the scammer list completely if hes not the #1 person on it.Biggest myers mask scam ever if you ask me…Im sure he is the type to threaten with law suits …I respect your opinion derek, Im sure you have a good reason for this post.
I guess Michael Myers mask collecting is more addicting than crack. Where else can you kick someone in the nuts take all there money then put out a great mask sometime later and it’s like nothing ever happen.
I am so utterly confused I’ve seen people banned in the past for saying Fuck to many times on the boards, but Terry needs to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt?

This posts brings up something that I often forget, this site like many others, is not a democracy. It is a online community, not just for masks IMO but a brotherhood of sorts (the same way our grandfathers might have been local members of a rotary club, we congregate here). But we’re are ultimately Derek’s guests. We’re in his home. And while he, and by extension the incredible mod team, make the place as secure and safe for us as possible…it’s still Derek’s site to do as he pleases. So for whatever reason Terry is not going to be banned while other (non-convicted) scammers are.
However, I’m of the opinion that not banning him is more likely a better punishment. Banned members often fade away and disappear from the collective minds of the members. But by NOT banning Terry almost every thread in which a GCP mask appears, the theft story and unfilled order accusations are guaranteed to follow. This ensures his reputation will never recover because the issues are not resolved. Wether he visits the site or not his name still elicits anger because he is perceived to have “gotten away with it.” All that bad mouthing can’t be doing his business any good. In fact if you really want to hurt the guy, make him “mask maker of the mouth,” people will go bat-sh**.
I looked into this in the past and found out that more masks sold than certificates signed. CGP printed off temporary copies and real ones were sent or offered to customers once they arrived. Mr. Warlock was paid for every one of them (including the copies). If this is not the case, it is news to me.
CGP is being treated no differently than anyone else would in this situation. People who scam others or break the rules here are banned immediately. People on the scammer list don’t have hundreds of successful orders filled, which is why they were banned right away as opposed to what’s happening here.
I’m not saying he didn’t steal the 75, I’m saying the court of law didn’t find him guilty. I don’t know what the hell happened - I wasn’t there. I feel terrible for Jay.
To be honest it’s more trouble to me than it’s worth keeping him here having to deal with this garbage. However, if I hold someone to one standard, I have to hold everyone to the same one. And if I did that, I have to say that there would be other artists here that would be banned and it would create a much, much larger mess to deal with and divide the community significantly. We have to make compromises and I based my decision off of several factors that many may not understand or agree with. This was not an easy decision. As ramonesome stated - his reputation is tarnished by these accusations. He has to deal with it and it will likely follow him wherever he goes.
I knew this post would create drama and I hated having to make this call and make this post. I’ve been running this site for 13 years now and I’ve had to make a lot of tough decisions. While not always popular, many here will tell you there is a reason we have been going strong this long. I do my best with the information I have and I try to be as fair and neutral as possible.
Derek – I didn’t want or mean to cause you drama or trouble. I thought you posted as you wanted replies since the thread wasn’t locked. I’ve told Terry for the past two years I have nothing against him and every deal we ever had was just fine… but explained Jay Allan was a very good friend of mine for 10+ years and the situation was hard to see a friend go through.
