Funny you bring up other horror costumes, I think I found the match to the original Part 1 Freddy boots, and we have the maker of the Part 1 sweater, and of course there are people that still think the original hero glove was stolen, and that leather glove has also not been matched, but also if we post the make and model leather of the VS gloves, the makers won’t supply the leathers anymore
RanshiieKrueger84:It’s honestly been a lot of fun for me too, it gives my mind something to fix on, not just because we have a definitive guide, but because we can say that we have found everything after so many years, and it’s fun for me, since I do tend to fixate on a lot of stuff quickly
It is extremely fun. Not even just with Myers movies, but all of these other horror films have so many unidentified wardrobe brands and origins of their masks. Like Texas chainsaw massacre, for a while now I’ve been on the hunt for what cowboy boots leather face wore in the first film. Up until now I thought they were plain boots, as a few pairs have sold as being “screen used” from the first film, but with recent analysis the boots have a very unique design on them, finding those has been next to impossible! Lol.
It is all like a huge puzzle. Delving into it and spending time hunting online, frame by framing the film to find clear shots of ways to identify it, and the feeling of pay off when you do is great. People probably think we’re crazy, oh well! Lol

Id love to see what you found for the freddy stuff. I’m in the process of a ANOES guide. Actually, the part 1 glove brand was identified. But it was done privately and only like 3 people know and won’t let it out.

Yeah, Mike, Lou and Anders are all who know, Anders knows, because he’s got Lou as a Contact, and Mike knows, because Anders got the leather for him, which was going to be used on the screenused glove, but of course the tape ripped in half, so they had to put a replacement one on, I asked Mike about it, but he wouldn’t tell me the brand, but I understand why, he also sold the Part 4 hero glove too, to a private collector, shoot me a message when you’re ready for that, and I’ll help out as much as I can, I can tell you a lot of the sweaters are custom made, and we still haven’t found the builders for the gloves from Part 4
I thought the gloves were Wells Lamont brand leather gloves
The Part 4-6 are 1178’s VS and Part 1 are different, as well as other gloves from New Nightmare
For the H5 boots I may have stumbled on the possible brand, not the exact model yet
but i found a brand with the square cowboy tip/toe stitching but theyre laceup style
those stitches on the front have me stumped, it’s hard to say if they are a rare military boot
Im in no waw saying these are the same boots, but maybe one of these companies made another model etc its a lead
I know the soles dont match on these pairs but, the one company “Justin” did offer vibram soles so we might find the model.
The first company/design I found was “Ariat” they have a ridge toe/ the coyboy boot square toe in a laceup.
These are not close to the pair he wore but maybe an older pair this is to show the design The soles dont match but the design of the toe ridges I think is very similar
Second is the boot company “Justin” justin boots they said theyve been around 130 years so lots of models. These again
dont match the soles of the boot, but some things are close its a possible lead

that is very close! it looks like they are old riding style boots, I wonder if Don Shanks has the boots, or can remember where he had bought them

They have me stumped as well. Nothing I can find matches what we see on screen. Black boots, straight seems on the side, commando soles, those weird stitches, etc.
I already texted don and asked. He doesn’t recollect what the brand was. His exact words were “hard to tell, pretty much everything was trashed the last day”. Someone may still have them but it’s too hard to tell.

They are definitely close! It’s so weird trying to find a match to them. I almost wonder if the part on the top of the shoe is a design like above or possibly a a set of laces? It’s really hard to tell with the small amount of photos we have.

Shit, that’s a bummer that stuff was trashed, I think there must have been a company in Salt Lake or Illinois that made them, Don lived in Illinois, and they did shoot the film in Salt Lake, so that’s what has me thinking they made or sold the boots, they’re like Logger/Climber boots
Found a slightly closer pair that have a rounded toe
and just stumbled on these Ariat Heritage black boots, these look to be a possible lead
And found another company that has the right sole, it’s White (literally the name) this model is the Hathorn Explorer H7809

the first was about the closest I found, but they don’t seem to have any vibram soles
Those boots are damn weird. The ridges on the top of the foot almost look like they’re created by using a layering effect. I’ve never seen a boot like these before.
Halloween IV (1988)
Number of Masks used: 7 (?)
Types: 1 Hero, 5 stunts, 1 Kirk from H2
Boots Used: Unknown, but any black leather boots would work.
Coveralls Used: Grey (VERY heavily weathered) Fisher Stripe Big Macs
Weapons Used: Stunt Knife: Modeled after 10’ Chicago Cutlery with no tang (Model 44S), Hero Knife: 10’ Friedr.Herder Abr.Sohn Solingen-Germany chef knife, Scissors: Mundial Heavy Duty Industrial-Forged Tailor’s Shears
Actors Who Played Myers: Tom Morga (Bandaged Michael, toe truck driving Michael), George P. Wilbur (rest of film)
The MaskTwenty-Eight years after the release of Halloween IV, most are still confused and baffled by the varying masks that appear throughout Halloween IV, as well as their origin. There are several theories that attempt to explain how the Halloween IV mask came to life, and we will discuss those below.
One of the many threads speculating the mask’s origin: http://michael-myers.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=114020
- The mask was a recast off a copy of a 1983 Don Post “The Mask”, an unlicensed, extremely rare item. As of 2016, under 5 are out there. the 1983/84 “The Mask” was a small run of Myers masks released by Don Post Studios. The mask was cast off of an original kirk, which explains it’s strong Kirk features. This story goes that prior to production, FX artists on the film purchased this mask and sculpted in kirk eyes, and made multiple copies.

2.The “school scene mask” was one of the surviving Tramers from Halloween II and was painted a flesh tone color for the filming of Halloween IV. According to the theory, the Halloween IV crew made adjustments to this particular mask and then made (bad) recasts for backup masks. The only thing contradicting this theory is that Dick Warlock stated both Tramers died in the fire scene of Halloween II. The writer for H4 stated that they had a mask from H1/2 and when he arrived on the first day of the shoot, they had a mask with white hair. In the following thread speculating the Halloween IV mask’s origins, Billy Kirkus made this claim:
Thread: http://michael-myers.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=114020
Kirk Magnum:That’s what I thought too [that the H4 mask was cast from a DPS “The Mask”]. But, I have some behind the scenes photos from Halloween II’s Tramer mask that says otherwise. They cast a Tramer mask from 1981 for the mask to Halloween 4.
It is said that one of those Tramer masks (seen when Tramer is walking away) was an unconverted Kirk mask, and that the other that we all see (when Tramer is running into the street) is a fully converted mask. There is a specific issue of Gorezone Magazine in which Ken Horn is interviewed on set in 1988. He states that they used a mask left over from Halloween II. When looking at all of the information, I believe that they had a mask from Halloween II (unconverted Tramer) for the first days of shooting (Used in the school scene). Horn recast it and made multiple copies, but due to time constraints, he rushed the job and caused the deformities that we see on the Halloween IV mask. After making these copies, he did it up like the Tramer mask that he recast. This theory explains the white hair and Kirk eyes, because he would have modeled it after the Tramer mask that wasn’t fully converted. This theory would also support some features such as flesh tone paint under the white paint and platinum white hair misted black, as shown on Paul’s hero mask.

3.There was an unconverted Captain Kirk (not Tramer) left over from Halloween II that the makers of Halloween 4 began filming with. After shooting some scenes (the school scenes), people noticed that the Myers mask didn’t have blonde hair and a flesh tone paint, so Horn recast the mask and finished them all as Myers (White face, black hair, etc.) This theory definitely is plausible, but theory 2 is the most generally accepted. In 2012, the Michael-Myers.net blog made a two part thread detailing the different masks seen throughout Halloween 4, which explains most of the questions you might have.

Where are the Original Masks Today?Of the 6 masks used in Halloween IV, 3 masks are known to exist outside of filming and only 2 remain. They are as follows:
- The one mask that is no longer around was owned by Jason, known on Youtube as Sinister Cinema Reviews. The mask was given to him by his brother Greg, who got it from Roy Moore, the prop master for Halloween IV. Jason was around 7 when he was given this mask, wearing it many days for long hours. Eventually the mask rotted away. Jason’s mask had duct-tape flaps extending from the inside, which is exactly what was on the hero. Does this mean that his mask that rotted away was the hero? Until a photo surfaces, we can’t be too sure…

- One remaining mask is owned by fellow member “Crofader”, AKA “Paul”.
It is unknown to me what scenes this mask was used in, but it was definitely used for some promotional shots.

- Another remaining stunt mask that somehow ended up on set for Halloween VI is now owned by fellow member “Tony Moran Fan”, AKA Darren Hughes. He purchased this from the brother of Danny Strode actor Devin Gardner.

Damned 388/88
As of October 2016, there is one artist to my knowledge that produces a Halloween IV Mask: Crofader. His mask, titled “Damned 388” is a clay press/ retool of his hero H4 mask. It is very accurate to his mask, but not 100% accurate to what is seen on screen. He will soon stop making these masks, so after he’s done most would have to pick one up second hand.

The Coveralls
The Coveralls used in Halloween IV are Grey (HEAVILY WEATHERED) Fisher Stripe Big Macs. There has long been some controversy over whether or not the coveralls were blue or grey, but in the scene where Michael kills the mechanic, I see grey coveralls.

Weapons Used
There were multiple weapons used in Halloween IV. They are as follows:
- Stunt Knife- Modeled after a 10’ Chicago Cutlery (Model 44S) with no tang (speculation)
- Hero Knife- 10.25’ Friedr.Herder Abr.Sohn Solingen-Germany chef knife
- Mundial Heavy Duty Industrial-Forged Tailor’s Shears
1. Stunt Knife- (closest available) 10’ Chicago Cutlery (Model 44S) with no tang
Fun Fact: The stunt knife used for HalloweeN IV is the same stunt knife used for Friday the 13th Part 7. It is currently unknown what knife this was modeled after, but the closest by far is a 10’ Chicago Cutlery (Model 44S) with no tang.

Actors Who Played Myers: Don Shanks
The Mask
The mask for Halloween V, sculpted by KNB FX, differs from the original design because instead of the mask having an emotionless face the director wanted Michael to have an “angrier” expression. Some scenes were filmed with the original mask until the director stated that the mask looked “too feminine.” In order to fix this, KNB FX sculpted a nose and lip appliance (as far as I know the lip appliance was only added to the stunt mask) and added it to the mask. At one point during filming, Donald Pleasence hit Don Shanks in the face and broke his nose. Many originally thought that the nose appliance was added to give Don Shanks extra room for his broken nose, but this was proven to be incorrect when the nose appliance rotted off of the primary hero mask and there was still a nose underneath. If the nose had been added to give Shanks more room, the original nose would’ve been cut off. Instead, the director put padding in the mask (as seen in some scenes filmed through Michael’s POV) to make the mask less tight on Shanks’ face because Akkad thought it looked “too much like his (Don’s) skin, not like a mask”. This caused the neck of the mask to flare out.
Where are the Original Masks Today?
Out of the 3 masks used for filming, only two of their locations are known. It is assumed that other blanks were made for filming but not used. One film production pull is owned by member 1mike1 and is shown below.
The Primary Hero Mask
The Primary Hero was formerly in Akkad’s office, but it was rapidly deteriorating in its last known image. The nose appliance had rotted and fallen off, the neck is crumbling, so until evidence says otherwise it can be assumed that this mask is no longer around.

The Second Hero Mask
The second hero mask is owned by Myers actor Don Shanks. Don kept this mask immediately after filming and took it to many conventions over the years. Unfortunately, Shank’s would leave it [the mask] on the table, unattended, during conventions. When he was away people would grab and touch the mask, which rapidly accelerated it’s deterioration process. After some time, Don began to bring an “SSN Shanks” mask to conventions, as shown in the photos below. After years of not seeing the mask, it was announced that it would be restored by Tom Spina Designs. They did a wonderful job with the mask and photos are also shown below.

SSN Shanks
The SSN Shanks mask was a part of their “Signature Series” line and is, as argued by some, the most accurate Halloween V mask made available to date. This mask is an enlarged Revenge mask with a nose appliance added. The appliance was molded from Don Shank’s personal Halloween V mask. At some point during the enlargement process, the mask became over textured, which unfortunately makes it loose some of its screen accuracy.

Number of Masks used: 11
Types: 1 Primary Hero, 10 Stunts/masks made for filming
Boots Used: “Double H” Mens Black Leather Combat Boots
Coveralls Used: Light Grey “Dickies” Coveralls with Slanted Zippers (removed)
Weapons Used: 8" Victorinox Forschner With Rosewood Handle
Actors Who Played Myers: George P. Wilbur
The Mask
The Halloween VI mask was the first of it’s kind. This mask was sculpted by John Carl Buechler and has a very unique “goblin” look.
During filming, there was lots of pressure due to the fact that this was the first Halloween to be made by a major production company. A lot of reshoots were done to satisfy the demands of the film company, resulting in multiple versions of the film. Now, because the director signed contract that included a 3 picture film deal, he had no little to no interest in making a Halloween film. As tensions grew during shooting (extensive reshoots, cutback on pay, etc…) an angry FX artist rubbed chemicals on the inside and outside destroying the masks… There may be more to the story, but I am unaware if there is.

The Boots
The boots used for Halloween VI are “Double H” Mens Black Leather Combat Boots. The boots can be found pretty frequently on eBay, but they do tend to be a little pricey. There are two versions of these boots out there. One with a toe strap, as pictured in most photos below, and one without a toe strap. The latter of the two is accurate to the movie pair. While the pair without the toe strap are difficult to come by, they are more accurate. Member Lamson78 owns a pair, as shown below.

The coveralls used for Halloween VI are Light Grey “Dickies” Coveralls with Slanted Zippers. The zippers have been removed as well as the patches and hammer loop. These are also pretty common and can be found on eBay.

The Knife
The knife used in Halloween VI was an 8" Victorinox Forschner With Rosewood Handle. This knife is also used by Little Mikey in Rob Zombie’s Halloween Remake, but we’ll talk about that later.

Could it be that the boots started off with a flap like this that went up under the laces, and the flap was cut off, revealing the stitching beneath?

it would still be flat with these I reckon, when the stitching gets ripped off
