Yes I found the WR case and son logo on mine by accident, light hit just right, wish I could photo it, but it’s just too far faded away. HIS knife looks the part, but don’t know how much it was used, if even ever after shooting, if that’s the case, logo should be visible. If HAD a new edge put on and was used for 40 years, then I understand logo missing. I do believe he has my knifes twin though for sure.
AND the rivets ARE brass, but they are so so very light, that they almost look silver. And I’m basically any light at all, you would swear they are silver, but look just right. Lol. And they are in fact brass.
I knew it was something like that, thanks for clarifying! I agree his knife does look the part. However, if this knife was indeed purchased brand new and only the blade was dulled, then it was tucked away after filming (until now) then there’s just no way it would have this damage. And his denial of there ever being a stamp when there very clearly perplexes me.
What also confuses me is his lack of posting after asking for photos that could easily confirm or deny whether or not this is the screen used knife and being shown that there was in fact a stamp after he said there was never one. And it’s not that he hasn’t seen it, because he’s been online after I asked him for more photos and showed him the stamp on the film knife (the 26th).
Oh I’m in no way implying he’s untruthful, It very well could be SU and if so…AWESOME!!, BUT I would have to have little more clarification as to its post use after filming, or if it was in fact tucked safely away. It is however the exact same as mine. So props to him whether SU or not…this particular one is SO difficult to find due to the logo fading in years of use.
I didn’t think you were implying that at all. I agree it would be great for the SU knife to surface, but I was merely pointing out some inconsistencies and questions I have. I hate to make it seem like I’m saying he’s lying, because that’s not the case at all, but rather that there are loose ends that need to be tied up before this can be settled as the screen used knife.
He says the following on page 9 of this thread:
If this knife was purchased brand new, used for the 3 week shoot, and then packed away in a cardboard sheath for 40 years the logo would still be there, as would some of the deep identifiable scratches, but neither are. Some of the story just doesn’t add up, IMO.
Ehh. I tend to agree, BUT if a new edge were put on a perfectly good knife and it had really been used, then yeah most likely logo gone, but yeah that’s why I would want to see more clarification on it. Would be awesome though!!! If so then only thing missing would be the outfit, we all know the boots, BUT those damn coveralls!!! Where are they??? All we want is the brand!
At present I have some personal issues that take precedence. I will take more photos soon.
Is the photo of a knife with the Case logo from the scene where Jamie goes over the stair railing?
I looked at the movie again and could not see it.
I look forward to the other photos. The photo on the left is when Michael stabs the couch, the photo on the right is right before Laurie goes over the stair railing, yes. The photos you’re looking at are very low quality. They’re clearly visible on the blu-ray.
According to Randy the only ones were the rubber SFX knife and the hero metal version.
I received my coveralls. Posted some pics of them too, but accidentally started the topic in the “Other Horror Characters” thread… I reported it and asked a mod to move it for me. Go check it out!
I did! They’re awesome and IMO definitely charcoal. They look charcoal in the dark and in the sunlight (like in the hand pic Nick posted) look navy blue. Awesome! Mind if I add your pics to the main thread?
