So I posted this on the Facebook page and thought I’d ask here as well since not everyone checks both. I’ve spent a year frustrated about the small size of the H40 mask. I don’t have a huge melon—23 1/8" or so— but a longer face and haven’t found one that fits. So my question to everyone out there who have actually possessed far more copies than I have (four for the record) is: do the mythical “rare larger copies” actually exist or am I kidding myself about ever finding one?

That’s been my experience as well, I just haven’t been able to admit to myself that my search is a waste of time.
Nah there is no larger one.
I encountered a larger copy, was surprised it fit my head. All other ones were much tighter.

I used to own both the larger copy and the smaller, there are most definitely some that run smaller. The smaller copy that I had looked like it had sharper detail and a deeper needle hole as well. I posted a photo of them side by side a long while ago as well.
The first ones I saw at spirit this year were definitely tiny masks, and I have a 22.5 head. I felt they honestly looked like kids masks. The one that I picked up later on is definitely bigger. I actually had to velcro it to keep from looking like a bobblehead. I’ve seen this variation with some of their other masks too.

Yes, there are some masks noticeably larger then others. I have come across many, as I paint them. Keep looking and I’m sure you will find one. You can also cut the slit higher on the mask.
I’ve had 2 masks. One was noticeably smaller and less detailed than the larger one. It isn’t that much bigger but it is a little larger. The biggest tell is that on the larger mask, the needle hole is deeper than the smaller mask.
I had an idea but didn’t go thru with it. There is a graphic art shop here and I talked to the owner about doing a 3D print of the H40 mask in a larger size, then to make a mold and pour a new mask that’s around 15 - 20 % larger after it shrinks and dries. The local shop here couldn’t scan quite that size so I would have had to go to the state university art center where they have a bigger one. Probably get the 3D scan done there fairly cheap (cost of the powder) just never made the trip, But at some point I may do that for the H40 and my Creep/JC Night Castle. Anyone else that wants one could get a blank for cost then have their favorite artist do it up for them.
That is a very bad idea and it is very frowned upon. I do not recommend doing this, its for the best that you didn’t do this.
I bought three total for myself all from the same seller, the first two were identical in paint and shape.
The one I just boought must be from a different run, I dont know about the size difference but the shape
of the fave overall is different. One looks bulbous and warlock shaped one is long and thin faced like Castle
Well the thing is the mask is small because it was sculpted on a James Jude Courtney lifecast and his head is really small the screen used mask is actually about an inch smaller then the tots masks and because the tots masks are mass produced and they had too copy molds so some copies are slightly bigger then others
The larger size H40 is not a myth, however it’s not a drastically larger size either, it’s miniscule. I have two copies, the original pre-order copy from the initial release, and another copy I bought from Party City this past Halloween. The pre-order initial run copy is the larger of the two.
I have a 24" head and it fits perfectly, but is just barely big enough to be comfortable. The copy from Party City is quite snug, and a challenge to wear for any length of time. With that said, any copy I have tried on from Spirit or Party City over the past Halloween season, has been that smaller snug fit. None of them fit like my initial pre-order copy. So finding one of the “larger” copies may be getting to be more of a challenge.
So when you hear someone talk about a larger version, it’s not a myth, but it’s also not some huge difference. It’s not like going from a TOTS H4 to a TOTS H78, it’s nothing like that. Its more like just enough, or not enough. That’s the difference. Also, both copies I have are the same thickness, so that’s not playing a part in the fit between the two.
So they do exist, but to what extent I don’t know. I just know I haven’t come across any of the “larger” ones outside of my initial pre-order copy. Great mask though.

Ive had in my hands over 30 H40 masks for rehauling. THERE ARE NO LARGE H40 MASKS. Doesn’t exist. - Heath
I’ve owned 2 larger copies. Significantly larger than the regular copies.
Maybe it has to do with how the latex cures?
Lawson, My 75K Castle 24” fits me perfectly. My Jerk is wearable but tight. How did your first mask fit compared to your Castle and Jerk?
