So wait people can’t make their own versions of an H40 mask? Considering that sure the tots version is readily available, but then again so is the 78 now since release. We all know the tots H40 doesn’t look like the movie version given the bad paint job and is why we get our masks rehauled anyway. Why can’t someone come along, craft their own like they do with all the 78s and create one that looks more like the movie than the tots version does? So it’s not a direct scan/copy.
I have a small head, the tots version fits me pretty good so I have no high stake in this but I would hate it if my head was larger and I couldn’t wear a new Halloween mask.
Because 1: TOTS offers masks that come off the movie mold for only 59.99, 2: The H40 has so much detail and a certain shape to it that sculpting a replica is near impossible, 3: And with how hard it would be to sculpt it, imagine how much it would cost, painted or just a blank, H1 blanks are pretty high price themselves, think how much an H40 blank would cost, only for you to pay more money to send it off to someone to paint.
Those look a bit retooled or painted to me. People have been upset regarding how the tots 40 doesn’t look like what we were promised. The tots 40 looks different from the Michael 40 too.
The mask is nice for what it is, at least the molding for the most part, I think my eye cuts are messed up from the factory though, it has way too much neck hair glued on, it has brown/yellow paint everywhere. Aside from hair styling, we shouldn’t have to retool the mask to get it to look like the movie.
If you want too go for screen accuracy and want it to look just like JJC hero I highly recommend Jimmy Falco at spook house props he’s the best in the biz
I’ve repainted a ton of these and yes there are copies that are larger than others. However, we’re not talking about a significant difference in size. Maybe a quarter inch or so variance on the inside in terms of fit.
nope it’s becuase they are using recasts of the mold only one mold can make up too a few hundred copies a similar thing happened with the old Don post masks
I’ve bought 7 of them from the first run to last year and yeah some fit more snug and a few are more loose, especially around the jaw/neck area… (for me anyway) I have a short-thick neck.
