The DP masks are mass produced garbage no matter how you slice it. Itās easy to fixate on Don Post the man and blame him but itās true that other people are involved in the actual business. The business is like many which are there to get the highest price for a sub par piece of latex. You guys think it really costs Taco Bell 3 bucks to make you a nacho bell grande? Itās all about profit same as itās always been and that isnāt going to change.
I feel a bit silly even saying this which kind of makes me the āMaster of the obviousā

One thing that irritates me is how they first started promoting this last year. āThe definitiveā Myers mask. Itās a shame how this thing turned out, and the price too!
This is one main reason I never pre ordered the H3 set.
Iāve got fingers and toes crossed that the H3s will be, at least, salvageable. I didnāt pre-order either, though.

I agree this mask is horrible. I canāt see how they can go from the 75 Kirk or even the 84-86 āThe Maskā to this it is stomach turning.
I know someone who bought this ānewā Myers mask by DP/PMG exactly as Chris posted in this thread & he told me it was GARBAGE & he threw it away!!

Thatās an expensive reaction. $70 maskā¦ Iād return it, then buy another TOTS Or Iād even try repainting, reshaping the eyes, and rehairing so onā¦ before just throwing it out. Dude must have seriously disliked it if it went in the trashā¦ hahaha
The real question is why did Trancas push for this as the final sculpt? I just donāt get it. Youād think theyād allow the guy who has one of the highest valued masks in the Independent community to have final say on the final sculptā¦ Iāll never understand how corporations think.
I get the whole cheap finishing thing since it was finished in China (and was made for profit), but why okay that sculpt? If it was a decent sculpt it could have been a huge opportunity for the independent community to refinish/ resell. Iām starting to believe tranc-ass doesnāt want the sculpt accurate on fears that we will profit from it. Thatās low. Thatās a giant F-U to the biggest fans in a way. They donāt want us profiting in any way, thus they will never okay an accurate sculpt.
What else can it be? Itās akin to if New Line (or who ever the current F13 license holder is) only okay-ed square shaped Hockey masks for Jason fansā¦ Wtf.
