First… I can crap in a box and throw some camel hair on it for $50. I’ll save the consumer $20 and give them a better product.
Second… Are retailers going to carry this? Wasn’t Chris and TOTS denied by some retailers because the H2 was going to be $60 and they said they didn’t think people would spend that on a mask?
I agree… But still for a corporate decision they’d have to be blind and partially if not totally retarded to not see that if they put out a decent mask they’d sell a lot more of them. I promise you they have people that know what’s going on online, hence the major crackdown on mask making and copyright infringement and the like.
So, from a money making perspective, it STILL makes sense for a better sculpt, because the true Halloween community would snatch them up in droves. Yes, more money would be made by this community, but not before they made a killing, which to any company is the absolute bottom line.
They could pay for one great sculpt, then mass produce the heck out of it, ship it to China and pay someone 4 cents a month to slap some hair and paint on. Even then it would be MUCH better than the embarrassing trash that’s hitting the shelves.
This garbage doesn’t make sense from any business perspective. I’m not the CEO of a huge national company, but I’ve ran a multi million dollar company for 7 years… and this leaves me scratching my head. My company sells computers… And if someone paints or slaps a skin on their laptop after they buy it from me, then super! I made my money off them, it makes no difference to me.
Hell, we’ve even considered working with other companies who do custom skins and backplates.
Enough rambling… This garbage drives me nuts.
Look DP may be a nice guy, but when you allow your name to be put on a turd for $$$ you better be ready to stink,if Chris can do what he did with H2, they should be able to step up to the plate and do a better job oc their’s.

I agree with a comment a couple pages back that the ToT H2 is a game changer. It’s too bad the latest DP mask is what’s being released, but at least people will have a choice with Chris’ mask on the market as well.
