Things you hated about the new movie?

As the title says, what did you hate or dislike about the movie?.. or things like little nods they left out, but wish they had put in?

I hated the Dr. Subplot idea.
They showed too much of the mask, and also too much of Myers unmasked
I wish that they had shown Michael actually stalking / lurking / watching people
I wish they had at least mentioned Tommy and Lyndsay.
I wish they had shown the old Myers house
I wish they had mentioned Ben Tramer (I think he could have been a cop)

all the people crying about it.

OP, I pretty much agree with everything you said.

I didn’t like the doctor sub plot at all, it took me out of the movie for a short time but I managed to get back into it quite quickly. To be honest, i’ve tried to think of a few other things that I didn’t like about this movie and I can’t really think of any. I had a really great time watching it. Like you said though I do wish we got at least a shot of the old Myers house, but I didn’t go in expecting it so I wasn’t disappointed by it.

+1

Only thing that bothered me is when the clown doctor put on the mask

I wouldn’t go as far as to say I hated anything about it. I think the doctor stuff was unnecessary because it went nowhere as Michael killed him within minutes of the reveal. If they had cut that completely and lowered the body count to allow time for more h1 style stalking I think it would have been a good thing. But they’re just minor tweaks I’d make, overall I didn’t hate anything about the movie

The only thing worse than the doctor subplot was Laurie actually saying, out loud, “you’re the new Loomis.” I cringed so hard I was actually relieved when that stupid twist happened.

There’s nothing I really hated, just a couple of minor annoyances.

So Michael proves that Loomis was right about him as he escapes, personifies evil, and then proceeds to get shot 6 times and falls off a second-story balcony only to get up and walk away and they just bring him back to the same minimum-security sanitarium? That did make me giggle a bit.

Thought Ray was a little over the top, peanut butter on my dick? Goofy…

Also I thought Judy looked too old to be Laurie’s daughter.

That’s about it really.

Honestly how would Michael find Laurie if it wasn’t for the doctor driving to the house. He was basically just walking around town killing people until he was hit by car and driven to her house.

I thought Ray looked a bit older than Karen. I thought he looked just a little younger than Laurie. Also I don’t think they would have transported Michael on the 40th anniversary of the original murders… talk about a bad time moving Michael lol

Exactly!!!

I thought the score was under used in the film.
Didnt like that Sartain wearing the mask, was a little goofy.

Its been a week since I seen it, so I been digesting it all week. Would love to see it again this weekend in IMAX.

This is after seeing the movie one time. Whatever the fuck happened with that doctor when he killed the cop. Was really confusing and I didn’t understand it, thought it was dumb. Good thing it lasted pretty quick and was over with. I didn’t like that jive ass black kid. He wasn’t too bad at first, but I didn’t like that he was still acting goofy once Michael became a threat. Those were the only things I really HATED about the movie. My only other complaint off the top of my head was the soundtrack. I didn’t think it sounded bad, I thought it sounded really good actually. I just didn’t like that they used variations of the main theme so often, they over did it to me. It should be reserved and used sparingly, they used it for every other piece of music. I think it’s a good movie though. I’d say I like Halloween II (1981) just a tad more.

Hahahhhahah yup

As it turns out Mike didn’t have good heath insurance and State doctors are like public defenders. Lol. I didn’t mind the doctor. He kept Michael a random killer. He wasn’t even after Laurie. He fixated on whoever. It was
The doctor trying to bring them together.

Yeah I didn’t HATE anything but I am in total agreement about all these points along with 3 others:

The kid and his wisecracks

I felt the family didn’t bond or work properly, unlike H20 for example

Laurie was too indestructible

Jamie Lee just looks that young. Peanut butter on my penis was McBride all the way.

I didn’t like that if this thing picks up from number one, why is Michael in a mental hospital instead of out loose?
I didn’t like how so much was thrown at us at once.
I didn’t like the lack of chase scene and slow build up.
I didn’t like that there was a daughter AND grand-daughter.

But seriously, I liked the movie. I think we are lucky to have it and lucky it is doing so well.

What I would have done:

-I REALLY wanted them to show Michael in 1978 after being shot 6 times. Maybe show 21-year old Michael staggering on the streets of Haddonfield and collapse near to death, trick-or-treaters rush to see him lying on the ground, next police officers drive up and scold the kids to go home. One officer (maybe a young officer Hawkins) with his gun drawn kneels down to him and pulls his Mask off and there would be a close-up to his injured eye. And THEN cut to the British podcasters at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium.

-I really liked Alyson played by Andi Matichuk, but I think Karen Strode played by Judy Greer was a total nuisance, too whiny and uninteresting. I think Karen should have been mentioned in the story as recently deceased, survived by her husband and daughter Alyson. Laurie Strode being the basket case she is suffering from PTSD, is ostracized and Alyson is forbidden by her jerk Father to have any contact with her grandmother. If the plot was just narrowed down to JUST Michael, Laurie and Alyson, would have been more simplistic.

-Although I didn’t mind the Doctor twist as much as others, I rather he would have died when accidentally shot on the bus. Last but not least, MUCH less comedy!

All in all, I’m satisfied with the movie. It washed out the bad taste of H5, Resurrection and the Rob Zombie movies. I rank it in my top 5 of the series, I liked it better than H20( and that’s a movie I love) and in my opinion it’s on par with H2 and H4 behind the 1978 original which is the greatest obviously.
