Things you hated about the new movie?

  1. Laurie being a survivalist and the flashback of her training her daughter didn’t fit.
  2. The lighting and general atmosphere was off. The town didn’t feel right. Laurie’s house at the end was too weird (dummies, panic room).
  3. Seeing Michael unmasked above the neck.
  4. Laurie’s daughter’s husband.
  5. The ending.
  6. The Dr. killing the deputy.
  7. The sheriff in the cowboy hat.
  8. The timing of certain music pieces. The original was perfect. What happened?

I’m sure there’s more, just can’t think of them right now.

I agree, but only after I’ve watched a few times as I have now, out of theatres.

Let me guess…audience of this generation? @kaijumyers.

Loved it!! Nothing I dislike. Could of been a car crash of a franchise killer. Instead it was magnificent. :jack_o_lantern::jack_o_lantern::jack_o_lantern:

It took a few viewings for me to really open up to the film, but I can now say that I really enjoy it. With that, the few things that do bother me are as follows…

  1. Sartain - The whole situation was a mess. It bothers me when he is referred to as the “new Loomis” by Laurie, who has essentially filled the Loomis void. Yes, he is Michael’s doctor, but that is where it stops.

  2. Frank Hawkins - Why wasn’t he the sherriff? His personal connection to the events in 1978, in addition to having a role of greater authority (sherriff vs. elder patrol man) could have made the character much more poignant. I enjoyed the character and hate that he was a casuality of the Sartain nonsense.

  3. Ray - I am a huge fan of Toby Huss, but he was horribly miscast. His age, in relation to Karen’s, the terrible dialog, etc.

  4. Karen and Laurie’s relationship. Karen’s resentment and Laurie’s guilt are well established, but I felt that more could have been done to make it more impactful.

Overall, I enjoyed the film and am looking forward to the sequels.

I didn’t like Laurie’s look. Should have kept her with the short hair.

  1. He walks around too much in the gas station bathroom. Michael doesn’t move his feet like that.
  2. The scene where he gets hit by the squad car is really REALLY cheesy.
  3. The whole stupid Dr Sartain wearing the mask etc.
  4. The whole strangling of Laurie’s daughters husband in the front yard was also pretty cheesy.
  5. The Sheriff wearing a cowboy hat like he’s in Texas and saying, “What are we gonna do…cancel Halloween? He he he.” - Real cheesy!

Those are the main things I wouldn’t have done if I had of made the new movie.

I honestly didn’t like anything about the movie, i watched it a few times after it came out on dvd, i just couldn’t like it, as hard as i tried.
