On a more serious note. I’d love to see someone pick this up and have the neck area refurbished. It’s killing me to know that a really nice Kirk is still out there and its rotting away little by little. Someone please help it! I have a really good idea that I think everyone will like. Everyone start sending me money. As much as you want, don’t be shy. As soon as I have a million dollars I’ll snag it and refurbish it myself. And then I’ll share a ton of pics with everyone for many years to come. Sound like a plan?

Why in the world would anyone even ship an item worth 1mill. Ha, could you seriously trust USPS at that price? This guy should be hand-delivering himself anyway… on a tricylce at that. I mean if I had the cash and actually purchased it at that price, he should show up at my door the next day with the mask and maybe a new car for me… gift basket too with some cupcakes with sprinkles.
Regardless of this auction, an original Kirk mask value stays the same in my eyes. It depends on condition, but 20-25k is about tops.
I really don’t know what the guy is thinking or what his ploy or plot is? I really don’t know if he even wants to sell it or if he really wants a million. I do know if I had Jay-Z or Donald Trump money I would. On a serious note, I want/wanted this mask more than anything and I offered the guy $20,000 and never heard back. I offered him 10k then 15k and he said simply “No.”
I offered him 20k as I though it was fair offer and didn’t hear back from him.
It’s none of my business what the owner does with the mask, but I will tell you that I hate, hate, hate seeing it on eBay for sale. Just doesn’t seem right. If he really wanted to sell it, I would help him sell it for free (meaning I know people who have shown legit and capable interest in in for years) and know he would be able to get 20-30G for it, but eBay just seems a sloppy way to go. Might no sting so much if the description was done correctly, nice detailed pictures, etc. Sort of makes me sad to see it listed like that.
eBay isn’t really the venue for the item. Christie’s or Sotheby’s would be the better suited venue for something like this.
The listing is crude and unprofessional for an item of such value and like others have said, to put a shipping price on it only makes the seller look worse. Who, in their right mind would pay $20,000, $30,000, $100,000 or $1,000,000 and want something that valuable shipped to them via a standard service? I sure as hell wouldn’t. For the seller to want to be paid on top of any sale price to ship is akin to a slap in the face and/or pure greed.
However, it’s clearly nothing more than an attempt to generate interest. Sad thing is I bet the guy has had multiple genuine offers like MJ’s.
That is a fair offer Matt,in fact more than fair considering the necks going and the eyes have been restored back in,that’s not considered true Original form so should be 5K cheaper again lol.

Thanks man! I have ben searching tenaciously for one, but Josh’s old kirk is my grail of all kirks as well as any mask ever produced. When I saw it pop up on ebay for 1 mill, I was excited because I thought the guy was using that figure for a marketing tool. I figured no one would pay that or even close and he would take the best offer. I offered him the 10 and then 15k and he did reply to say “NO” and that is all I got out of him. I countered with $20,000 and no response. I figured with it’s current state and eyes, etc that was extremely fair. I hope to find one pop up some day, but my 2K kirk will be extremely sufficient until then!!
