I have some great memories of this place, its nice to see it still active. The entire hobby has completely changed, and personally my life has completely changed - the hobby is no longer as important to me as it once was. I will always have a passion for it, but at one time it WAS my life, and thankfully I can safely say those days are long gone.
Hey Steve… Wow man… great to see you posting. I too have great memories from back in the day. I dont think anyone really leaves this place once it has infected you. I’ve taken breaks and life goes on for a while then something will spark my interest and I always find my way back home. This place really was my home away from home back in the day. Almost felt like we were all just hanging out in some huge living room talking everything Halloween and Michael Myers. Yeah there was drama but for the most part we figured how to get through it. You just had to be here before Facebook to understand. Its still a great site and Im glad its still here. Mike
I’m relatively new to the hobby. Bought my first mask (a TOTS h2) about 2 years ago and at the time thought it was the be all end all, I had no idea about independent mask makers until watching some unboxing videos on YouTube. I’ve since gone on to buy a creep and a cgp warlock and like many people on this site ive pre ordered an h18 mask. I love the search for the perfect Myers mask which doesn’t really exist as they can look so different from different angles and different lighting so we all have different perceptions of how the perfect Myers mask should look.
I discovered this site about a year ago and I love it. Since joining I’ve learned so much about the hobby and the different masks out there, and 99% of my info about the new movie has come from this site.
Its a great site and the only real hostility I’ve seen is when that orlok clown was around
I am a long time member (maybe the longest…idk) Don’t go by my “joined date” This place was always kinda crazy but fun at the same time. A lot of cool people have come & gone no doubt. The masks & info about the hobby is what has kept me around. Not to mention my love for the films (H1/H2) I’ve made some great friends along The way. The only thing that still gets on my nerves are people trying to force their opinions onto others. Total bullcrap to me & a total buzz kill. We are all entitled to our own opinions. Other than that This place is still my source for everything Halloween
I first joined the site when it started, I think around 03/04. My screen name on all horror forums was Serial Killer 2000. But in 2008 I moved from the UK to the US and forgot all my login details. So after settling in here in the US, I had to rejoin the forum in 2009. I love this place, the best MM/Halloween website out there IMO.
I joined this site about 12 years ago. I don’t really think it’s dead now. But it’s very different these days. Back then it was all about high end Indie masks and nothing less. Nowadays it’s about everything under the sun. High end, low end and everything in between. Lots of members that I can remember being on here are simply not here anymore. Some got sick of it. Some got banned. And some still lurk but choose not to say much anymore. Like I said… it’s a very different place these days. The only thing about this place now that makes me roll my eyes a bit is the fact that a lot of the newer members have no idea what it’s like to own a really nice high end Myers mask. But that’s their fault I guess. But all in all… this place is still pretty cool.
Even though I don’t post as much anymore, I still love this site and always stop by to see what’s new
I would probably never own I really high end mask. $400 is max and that’s a blank being converted. Guess that’s high end, but not in the 1k range.
Doesn’t seem like there are enough new masks nowadays to make it feel how it used to be. Nick Mulpagano and Father Phantom Studios are really the only 2 people I’ve seen put out a new mask recently. Other than some unknown independent artists
I remember the site back around 2010-2011. Excitement around RZ films, new masks coming out, great finishing work being done, the chat room. I think it’s just slowed down because of lack of new films, plus Facebook and other social media. Most people already have accounts and are familiarized with the format on/of social media platforms, where as forums are starting to be a thing of the past, you have to make a new account and learn your way around, etc.
Also there are still mean people, people who are rude to new members, and the like. They’ve just gotten better at the art of sarcasm and subtle shade.
I’ve only been a member for a little over a couple years old, I have to say it feels different here than when I first joined. I’ve lot of members I saw back then that don’t post much anymore, I saw a lot more posts with the old-school masks, like the old nightowls etc. seemed to show up more. Maybe most of the difference for me is the nostalgia feeling I had when I first joined the site. Also I found there wasn’t as much shitposting as there is now.
I remember off the top of my head original members like GoBears04 , number2 , swampbilly , The Boogeyman 1978 , crofader , WarLocK , ColdBlooded Killer , gummi , 50-oNe-50 , deathwalk79 , embodiedhost , eyes , strangerathome just to name a few who contributed so much back in day. When I was new I would always be interested to hear what those veteran guys I mentioned had to say. Upon returning its cool seeing original guys like Jay Muzz (Caleb Croft) , Slasher75 and a few others still enthusiastic about the hobby and carrying the torch from the old days. Like I said earlier. Does anyone really leave this place once it has infected you. I like to think some of the guys I mentioned still lurk from time to time just to see whats going on here. Whats awesome about this site is you never know who will return from the past and start posting again.
Compared to even four, five years ago…yea, it’s pretty “dead”. Once the Facebook went up it was all downhill from there. And the fact Photobucket decided to be a bunch of stooges and start charging for third-party hosting didn’t help, since it made it a lot harder to post pics (the sites uploader is junk, so don’t even try to tell me to use that) doesn’t help. I wish the Facebook page would be deleted to bring the traffic back here, but I know damn well it will never happen because of ToTS and this forum’s affiliations to them.
I remember I used to be on here every day, for hours, because it was that busy. Now, I might check-in twice a week, if that, and not really miss anything. The forum may not technically be “dead”, but it’s about 25% as interesting as it used to be. As they say, all good things come to an end.
I agree Facebook was a blow to the forum, but I definitely wouldn’t say it’s at an end or anything. There will always be people who prefer the forum (myself for one), but yeah you’re right Facebook hurt it here. People are just more familiar with that platform which makes it easier for them. Makes me sad

Never saw the Facebook group
Well said
this was the place to be back then. very fond memories of this site and met some great people too.
I guess it’s how you look at things, “half empty or half full”. Yes, the Facebook page has gotten attention so of course some of the attention is now divided between the two incarnations of Michael-Myers.net but “dead”…really?
Well…let’s see. First of all we have a new movie coming out for the first time in over nine years, that thread about the movie doesn’t look dead to me. We have new pics of the hero mask for the first time in what…14 or 15 years? That’s pretty big. That thread has also had much traffic.
Oh and speaking of the new 2018 Halloween movie…Trick or Treat studios will be offering the new Myers mask from the same silicon master as the screen used mask.
We also have a great new mask from Ken Hertlein and another popular thread to accompany this.
In my opinion this has been the most exciting year on this board in quite awhile so even though we are sharing some of the attention with the Facebook counterpart, I would say it is pretty exciting times that rivals any other yesteryear this board has had.
HERE HERE!!
Oh man, now THOSE are some names that bring back memories.
I left the Facebook recently exactly for this reason. I rarely post there anymore and the obnoxious constant “newbing” is, well, obnoxious. I mean, how many times can the same crappy Myers memes be posted? That, and I called out Chris Zephro for harassing indie mask makers and my comment got deleted so, guess we all know who has the real cards at the table. Rather than fight it an get banned, I’d rather leave on my own terms.
I agree. 2018 has been one of the most exciting and busiest years for this forum since the first couple years I joined when RZ was still fresh.
Now, history…
The forum in one of it’s earliest incarnations:
This is the forum as it looked when I first joined. Ahhhh, what a classic design. I won’t deny I miss the RZ subforum even though it kinda never got a lot of traffic to justify its existence:
The forum up until about a year or two ago. I’ll admit I miss the mask line up.
