Hey I was trying to find a way to contact Tommy Lee Wallace but came up with nothing so I was wondering if any of you know his email address or phone number or any contact info, PM me if you do. I’m wanting to send my NAG Classic Kirk to him so it can be converted by the same hands that converted the Hero, I’m willing to pay a considerate price for his work. Thanks, Colby.
BUT… BEING REALISTIC…AFTER HEARING SOME STORIES OF HIM @ CONVENTIONS,… HE DEFINITELY WILL NOT DO IT.
MATT MADE A GOOD POINT AS WELL. IT WAS OVER 30 YEARS AGO.
I WOULD HAVE IT CONVERTED THE WAY YOU WANTED BY AN ARTIST.
Thanks guys! Indianapolis is like a 3 hour drive from my hometown so that’s not bad at all, I will try to go! Thanks for the information! & Matt, yeah I do realize that it was done over 30 years ago. Thanks Jimmy, yeah I figured that he wouldn’t be interested in taking his time to do my Kirk up but I thought maybe he would if I pay him who knows ya know… & I agree that it won’t look much like the Hero, I will just tell him to do his best and c’mon it will be awesome to have your mask converted by the SAME HANDS that converted the Hero! Lol, I highly doubt that it will look any better than James Carter’s work but I just don’t want to bother him and get him more backed up and it would have to be a long wait (don’t get me wrong, I KNOW THAT IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT ). I mean how many masks out there are converted by the father of the Hero??? My mask would be like the Hero’s youngest brother I just thought it would be awesome to have him to do it up and have someone to take pictures of him and the mask in a process for a proof. I know some of you don’t agree with me but people are different and I want this
Really, just having TLW cut a few eye holes and spray paint a Shatner mask isn’t going to make it anymore special than if I touched it or James touched it. To him, converting that mask was just a part of production. It was a job. He didn’t sit there and remember every little angle and shape that he cut the eyes or what brand of spray paint he sprayed the mask or hair with. One of the top converters here would do a better job than TLW himself of replicating the look of the hero. It’s about as lame as me asking Paul Stanley to make me a replica KISS outfit.
i say go for it, whats the worst that could happen, he says no, so what. if he says yes and does it and you love it no matter what it turns out to look like, you win and you have a great conversation piece in your collection. goodluck in your quest brother.
For once I have to agree with Dren Even if Tom Wallace agreed to convert it for you it would have no bearing on how his original Myers mask came out. And that my friend is the essence of the HERO. It was a ONE SHOT creation. You would get a mask back that practically anyone could have done for you. Get one of our TALENTED conversion guys of your liking on here to convert a KIRK of your choice and display it proudly. Don’t get me wrong I understand where you are coming from with this idea… but the end result (even if he agreed to do it which I believe he would not) would not even resemble our beloved “HERO”. Take care. Mike
it’s believed that TLW actually only converted the stunt mask. after this was done, they took the mask to DPS hoping to have more made for the film. this was not possible. however, a few workers were able to make a few modifications to existing kirks using the TLW conversation as reference. there for, many believe that the HERO mask was actually the work of DPS, not TLW. the eyecuts were the main reason behind this theory. some feel that the hero’s eyecuts are WAY too precise to have been the work of some average joe and could have only been done by an experience mask maker.
(I know there are many more who support this theory and may be able to chime in. my story probably is not 100% accurate, but the general idea is there)
