I’ve had three 2018 masks and haven’t seen this giant gash thing. I have no idea what everyone is talking about lol
How many masks were made for this movie? Lord. I hope they don’t screw up the mouth slits on the 78 masks.
2-3 for initial filming, a couple more additional for filming, then a handful of “promo masks” from the ones on mannequins, movie theatres etc.
It has a slit for sure… I saw it in person
I hope its not a huge gash like we’ve been seeing on the H2018’s. We shall see!

Instead of a thin slit in the mouth its gaping. Granted this isn’t on all copies, but a lot of em have the issue.
Looks fine to me… that nose has seen better days though lol

It’s way too large of a slit. And that angle was downwards so it appears less. The slit shouldn’t even be visible for the most part if one were going for accuracy
The mask on the mannequin at least was promotional and made after filming, not sure about the mask fest copy though. I think that’s the only copy I’ve seen surface with a mouth slit and we’re not even sure what, if any, scenes it was used for.

I see the slit the mouth the whole way through the movie. And nearly all the pictures show the slit clearly. Only one or two don’t. The pictures of Ryan’s has a slit. It is a low quality picture, but the slit is clearly there.

I’ve been watching the movie and looking at photos and I can’t find anything that shows the new mask with an open slot in between the lips. Everything shows the lips together

Here’s a clear as day shot taken from the Halloweenmovie.com website.
…And some shots of my first H18/H40 rehaul.
I see a fine slit in the mouth clear as day on the mask Nick is holding, brightened the photo. I also see it on the mask in the glass display cabinet as well.

DB608B6A-CA86-46C4-AA31-1091D72BDBB4.jpegThe Castle mask from the promo was used for Nick’s scene. You can see Nelson putting it on him on set. There is also a shot of Nick in a trailer wearing it.
The mask you circled was a photo from Ryan Turek. You’d have to ask him, but he says it’s screen used so I’m inclined to believe him. It’s painted correctly, unlike the promo masks. I have a theory that it’s a stunt mask. I’ll explain that in a second.
They made three masks. One hero, one stunt, one “set dressing” copy. This is exactly what Chris says in the Prosthetic’s magazine. They made two masks for additional photography. I was not told what they were used for.
Man’s it’s crazy seeing these old posts compared to what we know now the mask your saying is a stunt is actaully James Jude Courtney’s hero mask the one you see in 90% in the film
