I would use a brown or grey acrylic with Lots of water added. Paint that on to the mask them immediately wipe it off with a clean cloth. It will dull the white slightly which is a more accurate look and it will get rid of the shine. Example here:
This is a TOTS Kirk that I converted into a Michael Myers 40 years later hero concept mask. It is based on the few last known pictures of the hero mask. It’s not completely accurate but I really like how it turned out.
Getting into the spirit of Halloween (even though it doesn’t really feel like it these days) by weathering up my latest TOTS pick. I snagged the latest H1/H78 sculpt from TOTS online the other day, mostly because of the reviews that this mask was a little more roomier than previous H1 masks they released (similar fit to the H2 “Lunatic” they have). I sat down and spent about 45 mins weathering, and styling this mask. I gotta say, I didn’t really have to do much to it and it turned out fan-freaking-tastic! I almost don’t wanna wear it around haha. Dont wanna toot my own horn, but this is definitely the best any of my weather jobs have turned out, especially in styling the hair. I’m in love with this one. (Just gotta hope the other H1 I picked up turns out like this. Its the one thats similar to the NO Psycho, and I’ll be “dolling” it up and making a coverall bust for it in the future).
Here’s another TOTS Kirk that I’ve converted into an H1. This thing looks very accurate in good lighting. This is why I still think the TOTS Kirk is their best H1 mold.
Thanks man, the first pictures are of my 78 and around the same size of the H2 but apparently are starting to be made a bit smaller. The newer pictures are my kirk and are the perfect middle between the 2018 and the 78/H2.
Started painting mine and made some progress. However I noticed that my liquid latex was all solid pretty much in my mixture when I finished. Hopefully enough mixed in with the water to make the paint stick.
Thanks. This is my first paint up so I’m trying to be slow and subtle. Putting on that base coat and yellowing it was a lot of fun lol. Couldn’t stand looking at that half-painted mask anymore.
