H1: The concept of a guy like Michael Myers. The mask, the knife, the coveralls. Just about every shot in the houses. And, kind of goes without saying, THAT theme.
H2: Michael and Loomis “dying”. Also nice to be reminded that a sequel starting the very moment the previous film ended isn’t a new phenomenon. God, I hope I spelled that right.
Also, the security gurad vs hammer. OUCH!
H3: Didn’t see it.
H4: The vibe. The rain. The darkness. Wasn’t too keen on Michael here though. Can’t win em all. Also, it’s one of the few movies that felt like Halloween. As in late October. Can’t really say it in any clearer fashion than that.
H5: Michael. Not so much the mask but, rather, the character. He’s pretty mean here. The laundry shute scene was pretty goddamn spooky. Helps that I’m a tad on the clustrophobic side. Also, while I’m of two minds about this, I did like Michael doing a lot of driving. I like that this movie, to me, made him feel a bit more human. Especially the shot of him in jail.
H6: Michael’s brutality. Mean motherfucker here, especially what he did to Jamie. The O.R massacre was pretty damn awesome too. And Paul fuckin’ Rudd! I watched this movie right before I Love You Man.
H20: Jamie Lee Curtis. I was just happy to see her again. Michael was pretty rockn’ roll here. Except, if this is a straight sequel from Halloween 2, I didn’t really buy that he would be anything but a busted up Michael Myers. You know, like Zombie’s No disrespect. Just a nitpick. I loved the Halloween theme and the opening credits. In fact, that whole opening bit. It was like a re introduction to a real world Michael Myers . Plus, in my view Resurrection shoudn’t have happened. Ergo, I loved how brutally Laurie got closure.
HR: The opening 15 mins. After that, well, the lighting wasn’t bad and I liked the score. Aside from that it was kinda meh. Nice that I almost saw Starbuck’s tits =D
RZ1: To start, three words: Joe Grizzly Bitch! Let’s see. I liked how the movie was shot. The colours, the vibe. Also, and this is something I 've found with all of Zombie’s movies (aside from Hof1KC) the violence wasn’t fun. It was violent. FYI tot he world, I’ve been stabbed. Shit hurts! I liked how pain wasn’t glamourized. It was dirty, and mean. Michael was fan bloody tastic. Some might take issue with his size. I got over it when I saw his performance.
RZ2: Just how unique it was in terms of slasher movies I’ve seen. Very character driven. I loved loved loved Michael Myers here. His brutality, savagry and obvious psychosis. He scared the crap out of me. Also, I was shocked at how emotional I was during this movie. Annie’s death I loved. I loved it for the same reason I love the violence in these movies. These people are being murdered. Brutally. They leave friends behind, family. It was painful to know that it happened and how it happened. Also, I was shocked by how much I liked Brad Douruf as Brackett.
Peace!
