How do you rank the halloween films and why is your number 1 pick at the top?
Heres my list top to bottom
Well if we’re talking favorite clump of movies, it’s the original timeline, bar none. H1-H6 before all the retcon BS. The retcon in H20 felt like a personal insult and it’s been a shattered mess every since. Everything from H20 on feels like a “what if” elseworld continuity. Not just that, but Dr. Loomis is the true linchpin of the franchise. Without him (and I specifically mean Donald Pleasence) it just hasn’t been the same. Jamie Lee Curtis doesn’t even begin to come close. She was good in H1, HII, and fantastic in H20, but she’s been terrible ever since. So for me, whenever I do a series marathon, I watch H1-H6 and that’s it. Occassionally I’ll include H20, but not usually. The rest I don’t care for at all. It’s not that the films post-H20 shouldn’t have been made, it’s that the ones that were were utterly terrible. H1-H6 were all filled with atmosphere and spookiness and dread. But literally every single film after has been completely devoid of it.

I guess it all depends on what you look for in a halloween movie.
I love kills its my 2nd fave because thats the best michael and the best mask hands down. 4-5 and H20-Ressurection masks are horrid they ruin the movies. Halloween 2018 and Kills at least nailed michael and he was badass and so iconic in kills sure there was some corny dialogue but if you look past that its a great michael myers movie. Michael saved that one. And the score is amazing.

Honestly he gave his opinion how is that ignorant? You said the kills mask is the best hands down that’s laughable in my eyes but I won’t call you ignorant for it it’s your opinion
You made a thread wanting people’s opinions on their ranking of the films. So… you’re getting them. It doesn’t make them ignorant or wrong. If this is how this is going to go, it isn’t going to last long.
The first four films are the only ones that I genuinely think are great films that I hold close to me, I thought 2018, although not nearly as great as being the best since the original was a decent return, anything else is take or leave, a lot of things I don’t like in the sequels but a lot of things that I enjoy and can have entertainment even out of the worst of the franchise.
Here’s my best to worst:
Kills is the sickest mask imo. Looks the most menacing besides H1

I dont understand how kills gets bashed and low ranked by alot of people! Sure it had some corny dialogue moments maybe thats why people dont like but man james jude absolutely crushed a home run with michael myers as a character in that movie. My favorite michael! fun to watch
Agreed, the first 4 films are my favorites as well. The rest…meh.

I think 4 was a good halloween movie. But that mask was horrible
I didnt call him ignorant for liking H3 i called him ignorant for Ignoring the rest of the movies. But its whatever everyones entitled to their own opinion that was just mine
I actually like the H4 mask lol. It gets a lot of hate, but it’s my second favorite mask in the series, right behind the original. I think it perfectly represents what Myers is, as Loomis described him…blank, empty, emotionless, and the black eyes. To me, it’s creepiest mask in the series for that very reason. But yeah, I love H4, it’s one of, if the not the most atmospheric film in the series.
I’ll agree with you there it does feel like halloween in the movie. Its a great movie but no mask will ever compare to H1
