Where Did It All Go Wrong?

I am going to have to say H20 and H8

I really like 4-6 I’m one of them that do like the Thorn story
and well 1 and 2 dont really need to say anything about them
there the best

but as far as going down hill IMO it started at H20
Michael was just small looking(I did like the mask)
He had no burns from H2
the story was ok
the actors sucked
and H8 just sucked all the way around
the only thing I liked about it was that Jamie Lee died :open_mouth: (sorry she was cool in 1 and 2 after that I just got sick of her)

and have no probs with RZ’s H1 and 2

Really, it’s not just Halloween in general…

Look at the trend of horror movies over the past thirty years, it’s all changed so obviously poor mikey myers had to evolve with it as well.

The same thin can be said for Friday the 13th, Freddy, etc… unfortunately the crowd changes which means the movies have to evolve… unfortunately.

H3

Yes…a recent one is Saw. The first one was beautifully constructed and was a smart film and for the most part had 2 people in ONE room, not 9-12 throughout many rooms and traps and trying to leave twists in the plot everywhere and leaving behind many plot holes…also trying to make money off of the unsuccessful scare factor of gore. The only horror movie series to have gotten to 3 (possibly coming to the next 3) that I feel do each other justice is Scream. As for Halloween, after 3 it was nothing but mistakes except for H20 which I believe they at least tried to make something good out of. They should have made that anthology series out of Halloween, it would have been MANY interesting masks and stories and they could have done something with an H20-like film where they could tie all the stories together into one universe at the end or something like that. It wouldve been epic.

Halloween went down hill after 3.

H20 and H6 was pretty kool to watch… but the originals are the best

i would have to say part 3 is where it went wrong for me.
even after they put Michael back in the mix, it just wasnt cooking up right.

When they made Halloween 3… not saying it’s a bad movie… that was the turning point…

I think it all went wrong with Halloween 5…I actually like parts of the flim. But I don’t like the whole man in black theme, I never understood it. I think it severely took away from the flim, and ruined, what I thought could have been just as good as Halloween 4. Halloween 6 is just hard to watch, I’ve seen it once and can’t bear to watch it again. H2O is a very very good sequel. I just wished they would have kept with Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 with Jamie being Laurie’s daughter…other than that, I thought it was great. Halloween Resurrection…just bad all the way around, just horrible. Michael getting his ass kicked by Busta Ryhmes? Ha hell no…

Honestly for me it went south after the original Halloween. Everything about that film was perfect, and that version of Myers was what got me hooked.

Halloween 2, while a good movie, just didn’t do it for me. The changes to the score didn’t help, and while Warlock was a capable Michael, I wanted the Castle-style Myers instead. The walking was way too slow, the collar on the coveralls was off, the mask looked too stretched… Yeah it’s nitpicking, but these are my reasons…
