Which Halloween series is the worst poll?

Would you rather sit through Zombie’s Halloween movies or the last ones made?

  • Rob Zombie movies any day!
  • The last Halloween movies made from about 5 on!

Which is worse, watching the Rob Zombie ones or the last few cheesy sequels? You decide!

Zombies Halloween’s are Basura!!!
Rather have the pigeons crap on me, than watching that… LMAO

 Amen to that brotha! :drinkers:

I’d rather watch two dogs hump all day then watch Zombies crap.

Agreed, sadly…

Your thread is a little confusing…

It says “Which Halloween series is the worst poll?”
Then it follows up w/ “Would you rather sit through Zombie’s Halloween movies or the last ones made?”
Contradicting a bit, no?

So I voted RZ’s films b/c I was voting for the WORST series.
But then realized I should have voted the last Halloween Movies from 5 on b/c those are the ones I’d rather sit through.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who just read the subject and then voted… or maybe I’m just lazy today.

IDK what you mean by your poll but I voted the remake’s as I don’t care for them.

I like all the Halloween movies up to H20 then they last 3 made were horrible

Just fixed that. Yeah, vote for the worst series!

I’d rather sit through and watch the last few made.

id say 1-4 are the worst in the series…

i kid i kid  i would have to say 5-8 i really enjoy the RZ series

Both cheesy sequels and Zombie’s productions are a pain to watch… But I’d choose to watch the bad sequels than Zombie’s…

Zombie somehow managed to make some of the most boring, unwatchable, and sloppy films in the franchise.

They are absolutely PAINFUL to watch.

Is he working on the Blob remake next? :unamused:

I voted for Zombie’s being the worst.

worst? H5 and on. I like the masks from H5 and H6, but the films from H5 and on suck. At least Rob made Myers a brutal killer again. The latter Halloween films felt like they were trying to keep up with the SCreams, I Know Whats You Dids, etc of the world which suck. Even the Halloween posters look like they were fashioned after those shitty trendy MTV horror films. And dudes…Busta Rhymes?
I’ll take RZ thank you! :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

I rather watch halloween III-Resurrection. This is just my Opinion. Besides the awesome mask, I could care less about the over exagerrated character of Michael myers and the pathethic role of dr.sam loomis in the remakes. And the white horse and visions of mommy telling to kill, geez do i really need to go on? Did Zombie forget that this is michael myers, not jason voorhees. pathethic

I think a lot of fans tend to overlook the sheer CRAPPY quality of H5-H8 due to nostalgia, and because they are older. If H5,6,7 or 8 was released in the past 3 years instead of RZ’s films? you’d be bashing them even more!

-shit acting
-myers quality nowhere NEAR Castle or Warlock
-story lines? cheese to utter non-sense
-shit directing, nothing stylized, no sweet shots
-films that emulated crap horrors and were catered to the MTV generation, NOT true horror fans.

-you wanna harp on the horse? I’ll rant on Busta Rhymes making The Shape look like a clown.
-Dr Loomis? Nice way to screw the character that Donald Pleasance played so wonderfully…could anyone write the man some decent lines? forget about how they desecrated his scenes in H6 editing!
-over exagerated Myers? better than what they reduced him to in those crappy films.

RZ’s films were far from perfect, but at least the man captured a Fall essence in the films, and made Myers a brutal entity once more.
Also the kill scenes in H2 were some of the most brutal deaths depicted in mainstream theatres. Maybe a lot dont care, but as a horror fan? I like to see blood and guts more often than not.

Since you seem to be directly pointing at me, did you forget that this site is all about oppinions  . I agree the several sequels released after the originals were terrible, but they all kept the same vision about the town of haddonfield. Haddonfield wasnt a trash town full of hobos in the sequels. Yes I agree, the busta rhymes addition was pathethic in my oppinion . The stupid cop humour was also unneccasary in halloween 5. I do think Halloween 5 was the worst myers movie ever made.

In zombies movies, Think about it, michael talks, michael makes jokes, too much in depth on michaels childhood, haddonfield has little hoes running around everywhere, dr.sam loomis is the only one claiming michael is dead, white horse magically appearing with his mamma telling jason oops i mean michael to kill, forget stalking someone michael is ready to take 5 people on at once like its a wrestling match (insert:overexageration). No one said the rob zombie movies werent enjoyable, I just dont think they are what i expect from a michael myers movie.

If you consider the remakes good michael myers movies , thats great. Your expectations are different than mine.

yeah bro, no problem. you gave your opinion,I gave mine. Its all subjective.
As much as H5 blew, I have to give it a nod over the Busta Rhymes fiasco. That movie sucked imo. I’ll watch every Halloween film that comes on TV except that one!

I love blood, sex, and ultraviolence as much as the next fiend, but there was no tension or feeling of dread to go along with it (in Zombie’s films). In that light, you’re watching it from a detached perspective that doesn’t resonate at all. It’s just violence for the sake of it, and the audience could care less what happens to these characters. The new Myers is brutal and extreme, but there’s nothing else to it. There’s nothing creative or interesting there that I can respect.

Sure, the later Halloween sequels are not classic films in any sense, but even if those came out today, I’d enjoy them far more than I would Zombie’s attempts.

In fairness to Zombie, however, I think the expectations were a little higher for him since he is such a hardcore horror fan. He wasn’t just another up-and-coming director that was using the experience as a stepping stone. He knows his shit. Even if Zombie wasn’t attached to the remake or H2, those films would still get raked over the coals for how half-assed and amateurish they come off. Zombie is one of our own, and it’s a shame that his attempts fell as short as they did.

I’ll take kung-fu Busta over Weird Al & Hobo Myers any day.
