Yes, those pictures. Sorry Kevin, didn’t realize it was you that posted them. I don’t know if it’s the lighting or the eye cuts or both… but it definitely looks odd and heavy handed.
As I already mentioned in the other threads I think this shot here looks pretty cool and gives a great generic Myers look, I gave him this picture as a reference, do you think eyecuts are too large here?
No I think they’re spot-on accurate in my opinion. Looking at the original, the left is more almond shape and the right is a little more rounded and Nik nailed it with that Shape 78
If mine looks like this, I’ll be happy. I also used this as a reference. Except I want the hair a little bit darker. The problem is, which im sure you’ve also thought of… by the time we get pictures, the eye holes will already be cut. Maybe I’m stressing too much over stupid stuff. The only people that will notice little things like that are serious collectors.
Yes, I sent that shape 78 picture back when I ordered… mostly for the weathering. Then I sent the Castle pictures today mostly for the hairline, hair color and eye cuts. But I like the weathering on this Castle too.
I’d be happy with this as well, I will probably send him a picture of my 98 proto jc finished as a reference as I want a little flesh tones showing and a little weathering. The weathering on this copy looks good to me as is just missing a little flesh tones on the neck for what I want.
I notice the bottom right quarter of the eye cut is about 2mm higher than the outline of the eye, right to the corner. Attention to detail right there.
I just texted Nikos just to remind him that I like the picture of the Shape78 I’ve posted up here for both finish and eyecuts, I also attached this Castle75 posted by another user some days ago as a reference just for the finish, I think it’s basically a clean finish with no much weathering, do you guys think it differs from the Shape78 pic I’ve posted? I’m asking cause sometimes even the finish can be confusing from a picture, and the picture od the Shape78 is slightly fuzzy if you notice.
Yeah man, I think that one has pretty much the same degree of weathering as the Shape 78. And I definitely agree with wanting the cleaner look. Real subtle shading is the way to go in my opinion. Lighting will make it pop with shadows anyway.
