Why do they call it Halloween 3?

It has nothing to do with Michael Myers, and I didn’t get half way through it before turning it off. Should I give it a second chance?

I hated it too dude. lol
I havnt seen it in while though I might give it another try.

Yeah, it just didn’t appeal to me. Maybe I didn’t go into it with an open mind. I think mostly because it was called “Halloween 3” when really it shouldn’t be a “Halloween” movie at all.

“Halloween III: Season of the Witch was intended to revise the Halloween franchise as an anthology series, with a new Halloween storyline every year.” - wikipedia

they basically tried turning “halloween” into a kind of twilight zone series only on a much larger scale (movies not episodes)

John Carpenter never intended to make a series of slasher movies. His idea for the Halloween movies was similar to use a similar formula to Creepshow or Twilight Zone, except instead of multiple short parts, each would be a movie. Each movie being a Halloween themed horror movie all under the same name. Halloween III is actually a pretty good movie…at least I liked it.

I agree. You shouldn’t watch it comparing it to the greatest horror movie of all time, Halloween (1978), just watch it as an 80s horror flick. It’s awesome.

i love the film a lot but i agree it should have another name, not part of this franchise!

Loved Season of the Witch. And that’s how I think of it. Not H3 but SOTW. It’s a very cool flick and pretty twisted if you think about it.

BECAUSE IT’S AWESOME!!!    I don’t think you should as it’ own horror movie though. I think you should watch it as a “HalloweeN” movie! Even though the only connection it has to Michael Myers is the witchcraft  And I’m connecting Michael Myers with Halloween III in my fan film

Tommy Lee Wallace actually intended the film to be a stand alone movie. The producers were the ones who decided to label it “Halloween III”. Wallace wasnt too happy at the time. (or after the ticket sales were in)

Must be the season of the witch!

I LOVED Halloween 3. yes I was disapointed it didn’t have Michael, but the story itself is awesome!

i loved H3 too, and dont forget…Michael Myers WAS in H3

It may not have the shape but the overall tone from the first two films are all there :sunglasses:
A classic in it’s own right :drinkers:

In my opinion, it is just as much a Halloween film as 1 and 2, and Halloween 4 and up should have never existed after 3…

The original intention of H2 was to END the Myers story, and the purpose of H3 was to direct the series towards more “Halloween” stories, rather than Myers. It’s a shame the series didn’t head that way… Myers would have been much more of a character than the major slasher he’s become.

I LOVE HALLOWEEN 3 BETTER THEN SOME OF THE OTHER HALLOWEEN MOVIES I LOVE THE TWILIGHTZONE KIND OF FEEL TO IT ITS A AMAZING FILM IN MY EYES

Bingo :drinkers:

I won’t disagree with you there. To be perfectly honest my favorite two Halloween movies that I watch the most are H1(78) and H2(81). Haveing said that though the other are just entertaining in their own ways.

If for no other reason - Truth-Stache’s girl (Ellie) is HOT :smiling_imp:

I liked it though - & I have the feeling that the film I’ll be scoring is along the same lines as what I have in mind for my own story

The ending of Halloween II was suppose to be the end of Myers. Then they decided to do Halloween III, SOTW, but take a different route with horror instead of having Michael wander the streets. But, because of us, the awesome fans that we are, they decided to bring Michael back to life in Halloween 4 and so on…But, Halloween 3: Season of the Witch might be a cheesy 80’s horror flick, but its not THAT bad. Its creepy, it has its pro’s & cons, but it is still fun to watch…Anyway, Who cares! They show the original Halloween Trailer in it! ANDDDDD Dick Warlock is in the movie for a scene! WOOOOOOO!
 :finga: :axe:
