Think about all the people that will become interested in collecting in the upcoming years.We were all new at some point.You always have new generations of michael myers fans.New members will be lost when they come to this site.In the long run indy mask makers will suffer because of this.If I was new and come to this site looking to purchase a mask, I would have no idea to contact a member in regards to a trade in hopes to purchase that mask.I dont know what the future holds for mm.net, but I hope things work out and things blow over soon.Derek mm.net is a place I love and enjoy coming to daily.It is what I enjoy doing on a daily basis.I have met lots of wonderful people who are passionate about the same things I have interest in.Derek, I know its become a big headache for you, but I want to thank you for keeping this place, who is enjoyed by collectors worldwide, up and running.We all will just have to make the best of things and hopefully one day things will return to normal.
Indy mask makers will do just fine…i can think of 3 different makers who don’t put there myers masks up for sale.
The fans come to them.
Those 3 will do just fine…Theres no doubt about that.There bussiness is word of mouth but it will not be so easy for all artist especially new artist.
true enough, i think there’s enough myers out there that those new artists should work on other amazing things

The classifieds section has been completely removed. This is the only way to fully comply with the law, copyright and licensing issues. It was not easy for me to do, but in order to keep this place alive, it was the only choice.

Chad, they’ll file copyrights there too, they’ve already been eliminating auctions there for months now man. LOL Blame RZ’s halloween for the newfound popularity, the artists for getting too good, the prices of the masks and one dude in general
I really do not see how they could make you take down a classified section. You only give people a place to sell things you are not selling these masks directly. IMO the classifieds was a very large piece of this site, and now it is gone.
What will stop people putting masks for sale in their sig? Is this also against the rules now?

I very rarely post here anymore, but most of you know me from Nightowl. It is quite obvious at this point that Derek has been backed into a corner and doesn’t have much of a choice. All of the constant threads and comments about how to get around the classifieds issue most likely made it much worse…hence the entire classifieds section being axed. If you want to keep michaelmyers.net around…I say drop all the carrying on about it. It doesn’t matter if it is wrong or right in your personal opinion. At the end of the day, this is Derek’s site and he has no choice but to comply…

we still know who the top mask makers are and conveters are if we ever want to do business with them. It’s not like thier products and services will ever go away. This community is thankfully still here and maybe this will bring us closer together and thankfull that Derek and the Mods are still keeping this place afloat. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a spinoff buy/sell/trade only board being invented. It’s funny, in the midst of all this nonsense-mcs, nag and hss have pounded out the most accurate 75 replicas that this community only DREAMED about many years ago. So I would say we are moving forward and not backwards…this is not going to stop us…were gonna keep pushing. I have a feeling things can only look up from here. Let them have thier legal issues. They won’t hurt our passion and our hobby.
Seeing how fast its going I’m afraid that the entire site will be destroyed… I mean, yes we know the members that sell Myers and this is the issue… We still can do buisness through PMs… Trancas doesn’t sound stupid…
I wouldn’t be surprise that the site goes down soon I mean in one day the entire classified has been destroyed. What’s next? They will go in our home and burn our masks?
