This post will hopefully be a fully up-to-date, complete list of all known 1975 Don Post Studios Captain Kirk masks. I mean any. If there’s some random polaroid where you can hardly tell someone’s wearing it, then I’m counting it. This list will be updated regularly though I still must enlist the help of the more seasoned historians on this site for most of the actual information regarding ownership and status.
Obviously this is inspired and is taking most information from Original 75 Kirk Roll Call (With Pics) and '75 Kirk Roll Call! , though I will try to generalize and include all information and photos regarding each mask.
(I just realized I won’t be able to indefinitely edit this. I wonder what the time limit is?)
If the photos I’m using are entirely for a mask are entirely from Original 75 Kirk Roll Call (With Pics) I will mark them with a star so as to not flood the list with photos.

Spina’s kirk is the Medley Kirk. The same one in the Medley kirk pic.

That’s the saddest part of this hobby. When I look at the Medley Kirk (old image), you see so much detail in the face. That instantaneous recognition of The Shape in its structure. Then you look at the recent photos, and even though it is the exact same mask, still in tact, it’s lost all of its detail.
Sucks to think that we have run out of time now. I don’t think there is one Kirk remaining that is fully preserved. They’ve all warped and changed in some way that makes it impossible to use it as any true reference to capture the look from 1975. Luckily we have the photos we have from our veterans who have owned them over the last 5 decades.

Yeah I’ve seen recent photos of MDK and it’s had the same fate. Really depressing.
This is it in 2023. I can’t begin to think of how it looks in 2026.
I mean this was only a difference of a few years?
Isn’t this picture from 2018 or around then?
And the Tom Spina pic is only from a few years later, maybe 2021?
Edit: No it is not. THIS was Medley Kirk in 2018. Not as bad but… yikes.
Yeah I had seen this video a couple of years ago. Funny though, I still instantly recognised it as the MDK. Considering how other Kirks have ended up, this one has held up surprisingly well.
Even more impressive is the MDK is a mask which came from the exact same batch that the hero from 78/81 came from. This was confirmed when the current owner of the hero released the last photos of it back in 2017/18, and there are certain markings that both the hero and the MDK share.
Considering this, I sure do hope whoever owns the MDK can keep it going. Would be cool to get some more high-res photos. Would be even better if he could take a 3D scan. Every phone is capable of producing a more than satisfactory copy. Would be great to lock these historical pieces in, virtually.

It definitely held up “well” but it needs to be taken off that aluminum foil base and given some TLC. If any mask should go to Tom Spina it’s that one.
Only thing I’ll say is the photo above is definitely not from 2018. I distinctly remember this photo being used in the eBay listing where the seller was asking for $1,000,000, hence the name, lol. That must have been 2010-2012 at least, perhaps even earlier. Definitely early 2000’s.
I wonder if anyone’s archived that listing or taken screenshots. I’ve always wanted to see it.
This is the edit of MDK I made as a theoretical for how it looked in 1978, or a mockup of what it could look like if someone got the license for the Star Trek 60th. It’s also my icon lol. This is what NAG’s new OG75 should look like.

Hehe. You can try on the WayBackMachine and test your luck there. I’m positive there are some old posts on this forum where people discussed the eBay listing. I remember a bunch of us thought he wasn’t really intending on selling the mask, and just wanted to show us the awesome Kirk he had and rub it in all of our faces lmao, explaining the extremely high asking price.
If you can find those posts, derive the dates, and have a lot of luck that it was archived, you may be able to find it on WayBackMachine.
