So they enlarged it to make the masks for the films. Not that Shelly’s mask that he has in the film was smaller and they enlarged it to make Jason’s. They just enlarged the original fibrosport and made a few, and Shelly is holding the hero in his scenes.
They also say the original was leather, so that shows how reliable the video is anyways

Yeah you are making my point it was not big enough for Jason so they had to enlarge it. Which means the shelly mask was smaller than the one Jason wore.
Also I heard them say something about leather but they didn’t specify… if they meant straps or the mask itself… there is also the possibility that the leather one didn’t make the cut when the movie wrapped up…
No, you aren’t understanding what they are saying. They are saying that the original mask proposed for Jason in part 3 was fine for shelly (medium fibrosport) because it was made to fit an average human face, but it didn’t fit Jason because of the sculpture being larger. So they made several larger masks off the original fibrosport. Those were the hero, stunt, and maybe the Mystery Mask (TBD) or others.
They are not saying that the mask you see shelly with was made smaller to fit him and that they made a larger one for Jason. Listen to the clip. soak it in lol. The mask shelly has is a large one that they made, NOT the original fibrosport that they enlarged.
There was no leather goalie mask that was used. The same guy who’s telling the story of the leather hockey mask that you’re lending so much credence to also says that he only painted the mask from the inside because he didn’t want the paint to chip off. We know for a fact that this isn’t true. He isn’t reliable, not all FX artists are reliable and this is exactly why we have to question what they say. Lots of them don’t remember.

Again you are saying what I am saying. The shelly mask is smaller than the Jason mask because they had to make a bigger one for Jason. Which is why I believe that the tommy mask was made smaller but id have to find the video that claims it.
Also that’s from part 5 and the same mold they used for the roy and grave scene mask… so maybe they just called it the hero roy mask lol… because the roy masks shape is the same but without the axe wound.
I question as well… which is why i keep asking for proof about this not being the case… but I will have to say that they do have more credibility because they worked on said movie.
The one person who had the original mask I heard left it out side and rotted… so… how are people going to prove it wasn’t painted on the inside? Also was the original used in the movie or made and given to the person who owned it and let it rot? I wouldn’t know I wasn’t there… and I don’t have the original mask in my hands.
Like I said to the person before you… I wasn’t there and we weren’t there… was the original painted as said and then given away and then a replica was made and painted differently? Booker does make the point that the original was given to someone… and it rotted apparently… is this true? we don’t know… where we there? no… what evidence is there? if the original mask isn’t around anymore? none
Could it be possible they made a leather mask… because Jason wore a sack? possible… is there evidence of this? not sure… could it be a possibility yes… could it be true? maybe?
the roy mask… in the movie isn’t even the original mask… as the original used in the film was broken… what evidence do we have that it’s true? other than the word from the artist?
we are mostly going on he said/she said… also remember your technique isn’t others technique… in short words I am just asking the questions that should be asked… and if there isn’t any good evidence to give… sadly id have to take the artists word… if people can’t demonstrate it to me.
But that is just me… I guess…
Do you think retooling a dmc mask would be alright? to see if people can try and fix the holes… to look like in the movie? with the right shape and everything?
the BASIS for shelly’s mask which they INITIALLY planned on using for the killer as well was smaller. The ACTUAL mask that Shelly wore on screen however is the same mask as the one Jason wore, and also a modified and enlarged rendition of that initial mask. They never used leather as the material (except for straps) on ANY of the Jason masks.
well according to them if we want something more perfect like the movie we’d have to pay more lmao XD at least when it comes to the grime… my current mask from them is this… I got this like 2 weeks ago.
