to be fair ghost its hard to tell someones ‘‘tone’’ over forum comments, its upsetting to see members i highly respect end up in a feud over this, at the end of the day its just masks.
I cant even make a list of all the times I’ve said that it’s almost impossible to correctly read tone through forum comments, but there are times when it is implied and very obvious, like in this cases. I’m always civil, but when someone gets mad at others because they question their posts or have a conflicting opinion, thats when all respect is thrown out the window. I appreciate you chiming in though.
I agree, but previous comments before the museum thing was brought up it seemed very civil. I think Auz just thought you were making him out to be a liar about the whole museum thing (as said, it’s hard to tell the tone and the way people mean things over comments) he just got mixed up is my guess.
(p.s sorry for not commenting about the subject that this forum intended, I do not have a a vast knowledge in this stuff)
Well, as I stated that’s not at all what I was trying to do was find out how he knew his information. I didn’t for a second think he was lying, I was just curious if he found out second hand or personally.
Auzorann, you are the sole person responsible for bringing this mask to our attention. This mask has helped us understand the movie masks and replica masks better. Thank you, sincerely.
I’d like to add to this discussion a photograph Auzorann shared with me, taken by William Forsche. This photograph confirms that this mask was in the hands of the Jason Lives production team. Slowly but surely this mystery is unfolding.
I just wanted to point out that I didn’t mean any disrespect towards Auz, nor did I ever think he was lying. If it appeared that way, it’s not at all how I wanted it to come across. I was simply curious how he knew, I wasn’t doubting him or accusing him of lying. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we were in a disagreement on one topic, the ones after that naturally had some hostility behind them on both ends. So all in all I would just like I apologize if I meant any disrespect to you l, Auz. I respect you as an artist and contributor of the community in a lot of aspects. I hope you can put it past you like I plan to. In case you don’t read this, I’m PMing it to you as well.
Let’s figure this out guys . Has anyone thought to ask Gabe or Bill or David about this mask?
I think so. I think Miller did use this mask. I think he did mold it from the inside, made 2 bucks and made his masks from it. When Miller did that, he smoothed the dents and dings and made the plastic masks for the movie as the movie was filming, I also think he added to the sides as well for Roy. (2 bucks)
If you look in certain scenes, you can see a very smooth mask and a more dented mask too. Earlier in this thread Miller states he molded it from the inside. I think that it was he did.
The generation size for his hallucination Jason is smaller than his Roy that he added to. Also, compared to Crashes 6, you see the difference as well.
So yes. Molded from the inside of the mask he thought was the mask from Part 4, but was some sort of other stunt mask possibly, smoothed his casting, made 2 different bucks and 2 different molds. (Hallucination Jason and Roy.) I don’t think they used his own in hallucination Jason mask in the movie, I think they used this mask.
David and his assistant call it the hallucination Jason. They used to sell them but they stopped. You can special order one, just contact them. When I asked about that mask, his assistant said “Yes, we have the mold for that.” You can see its different than the Roy…in size, shape and structure.
I wanted one of those Hallucination masks so bad when I entered the hobby in 2002. David’s hocks have a nostalgic place for me, but I have to say it ~ I can’t understand what you see in this mask. Even if David smoothed the dents and extended the edges, the masks featured in the movie have clearly not undergone any process of the sort. So much of the basic anatomy on David’s blanks are just wrong: brows, nose, chin, edges, eyes, hole alignment, size, etc. It doesn’t even come down to comparing measurements or hole placement, everything about this mask is plainly different than the movie, and your photo comparisons reveal that further. I wish I could see what you see, but it just seems so obviously hand sculpted to me.
